| Anyone used the preventic collar for ticks? Just had JPop at the vets to remove a tick. Since we basically have no fleas, Dr. Bob suggested the preventic collar since my 2 babies just hate advantix so much. Thought I'd get some opinions first; I know how we all feel about collars. He said they do need to be snug against the skin. Any comments? |

| tick collar No way, if one of the others chews or licks it, then you have a very sick dog..I KNOW!!! Plus, the toxins are too strong..I KNOW!! This happened many years back and prehaps the collars are better now, but I would never chance it. Check your dogs days and you can remove a tick yourself. Good Luck |

| Thanks, I was hoping to hear from you. That's exactly what I was afraid of! My little Taz, 8 mos., would definitely chew or lick JPop's. I'll stick with the advantix. |

| Why do your babies "hate" advantix? Are you saying it doesn't work on them? Just curious... |

| Revolution is the pest preventative of choice over here. It covers, Ticks, fleas, mites, worms, ear mites, we've been pest free (knocking on wood). Your vet should sell Revolution, ask him/her about it. |

| No way. I won't even put them in my big guys. They are so not worth the money. They don't work at all. I'll never stray from my Frontline

No, it seems to work fine; but they almost act as though it hurts them, or makes them feel bad. Today I split on little container on the 2 of them. I've not heard of Revolution, is it really better? and works for ticks also? That's why I was using advantix because it works for ticks. Also, I think someone thought I was talking about "flea" collars; this collar is especially for ticks. | |
