| hmm if it sounds almost like an asthma thing, it my be a reverse sneeze, or in some cases, like mine, she has allergies and a small nasal passage, which makes her snort/honk like a duck or pig when both awake and sleeping... thus I call her my little pig/duck XD but either way, those are the lesser worrisome conditions and are harmless for the most part. Other cases might be a condition of collapsed trachea at worse or they just have a cold/cough/irritated throat. When in doubt, have a vet check them to be sure.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | None of us can really know what exactly you mean by "wheezing" - you'd have to capture it on video and upload it here for us to see. Bc it could be reverse sneezing, or kennel cough, or collapsing trachea, pneumonia, or GERD, or....????

| True, but I had her checked frequently in her first two years for it (cause I was concerned, as well) and they said it's just that she has a small snout w/allergies. Allergies don't surprise me as we always seem to have at least one dog/yorkie that would have some kind of allergies. Her "honks" are more like short (or long) snoring sounds. So "knock on wood", she'll never have collapsed trachea probs ^^; So other than being a little bit overweight, knee issue and having some allergies, that's the only health prob that's known.
