Angry Yorkie Heaven Or Yorkie Cell?

I am so discussed after watching the kennel section if this site. I don't care how much money was spent to create and paint, on the tile etc ... the poor dogs are confined like breeding birds. This isn't even acceptable in my opinion for birds. Those cages stacked on each other just remind me of a mall petshop. I would never buy from someone keeping dogs like this not matter how clean and pretty the facility is. That is now life for any dog. Even the dogs at the pound get more space what a shame. This really pissed the sh@#$% out of me. JUST GROSS! This is the site by the way www.yorkieheaven.com What do you think am I right.

I really don't know but based on the amount of cages on each side there must be alot of yorkie babies confined horribly and suffering with every day that goes by.

I just went to the website you just mentioned and I agree with you. There is no room for them to move. The room is nice but yorkies aren't caring what is out of there pen. It makes me sick to see yorkies or any animal for that matter to be confined like that for so long. I understand breeding but if you can't treat them like family then why have so many. You still can breed with a smaller group. Sometimes I guess it's just all about the money.

Francie
Those poor pups caged the majority of the day. She still has the nerve to talk about showing some of them. She sure doesn't deserve any trophies for keeping animals in these conditions. Actually she might deserve one for being such a cruel human.

I totally agree If you are breeding they should part of your family. How can she ever find out about their temperaments to complement when breeding, evaluate their faults. These are thins she would be more clear about if she saw them out of those bars in her own home on a daily basis. I guess when making decesions about breeding she must walk the center isle and randomly pic from her caged collection. Huh Sickning!

Well, I am opposed to animals in cages but these cages are bigger than the crates that a lot of people put their babies in while they are gone during the day. She said the room was built for her dogs to stay in while she is at work so I would guess they are only in there when she is not home. Isn't this what a lot of people do?

I would bet if we asked the breeders on here to post pictures of there kennel facilities and where the dogs stay when they are not at home or when a female in heat has to be confined, etc., I bet they would look similar to this.

Just guessing......could be wrong...

If I am not mistaken breedrs here have mention that their dogs either have full run of the house or have their own room (not crate) or they just keep males and females separate with baby gates.

I would also have to agree to this. She said she keeps them in there when she is at work. But then again.... 8 hour working days, five times a week, plus at night as well. Sounds like the only time these poor babies come out is before and after work.

Dogs dont care about having fluffy dog beds, nice chew toys, or a pretty room... they are COMPANION animals, they want to be with YOU!

Anyway, Im sure with all those dogs (looks like 16 kennels).. theres no way it can be a home type environment. I dont agree with larger scale breeding practices like this. If this lady has another job on top of breeding, theres no way she can dedicate enough time to all those doggies. That just makes me think shes in it for the money.

I know theres someone who can check how many dogs she has registered living there.....?

I have read that a lot of them crate them. I know that Irene gives hers the run if the house but there are several who have rooms like this yorkieheaven kennel.

Are you opposed to crate training because it is pretty common on here? I do not crate train mine but I used a playpen when they were little and I use an xpen now.

I am not opposed to crate training. Like the name says its training it haa a begging and an end. I did crate training for my girl the for 2 months it didn't work she was only crated over night though. Its now long gone the crate serves as my grooming table with a flat cardboard on top of it. When I leave for work she is left in my room we rent the house I live in and she chews on the crownmoulding . I know this is really bad but guess what, I will have to suck it up and come up with the money to make all neccessary repairs. its not her fault that she has boredum while I am out. No matter the damage I refuse to keep her confined. The rest of the house I can leave her in because there are many dangers but If i could i would. I Know your not attacking me and I am not attacking you. This is just us expressing out thoughts and me explaining me preferences. I like to see all points of view even if I differ in thought. Thats the good part about this. Thanks for all your input your points are very valid.

Going back to the crate training , this site displays extreme crate training. They are perfectionist in the subject. They did say they are allowed out but they live in. Did you not see all cages occupied by the pics.
