| Updates Hey guys, been very busy training my dog. So Maggie has been quite the persistent little trouble maker for the past few months since I got her. But at the same time she has been showing signs of improvement. She still tries to eat crap off the floor sometimes and it drives me crazy because telling her to drop it or leave it and she wont. But she doesnt do it as often anymore. Still kind of annoys me that I've had no progress on that part. She hasn't had any accidents inside, though sasha has been slipping up. Took her out to do her business earlier with maggie, both relieved themselves(pee and poop), sasha's stool is soft again and she again diahreah'd a big chunk over the kitchen floor... I think its because she ate some of maggies food... Seems I cannot trust her alone even if she was trained prior. Maggie wont eat her food if you give it to her all at once and still is picky. I might skip or lower the feed for a day every few days to see how it works out. We're still working on the yard to let them roam around, but I dont think id ever let maggie off leash in the backyard-- regardless if the fences are fixed or not. She's way too fast and sometimes doesnt come when called. So I am making headway on training but not that much and we backpeddle alot. Still annoys me that I buy her other treats and she likes this cheapo walmart one but the other one(peanut butter biscuits -- made in america or something) she wont eat it much. She's not really an eager eater... not sure why. Which probably is why its harder to train her over sasha. Sasha is an eager eater but I cant give her much variety because she has sensitive stomach(I guess this is the downside from her being from a not so reputable breeder). Anything too different and she will puke or get soft stool (diahrea). Sasha picked up a nasty habit of jumping on the sofa (there's a window sill in the new house and she barks at oncoming cars) so now we can't leave her alone in the living room, if she poops diahrea there or pees she will ruin the wood floors... -- Forgot to add... Sasha is eating flower petals which may be whats also causing her stomach upsets and anytime i catch her and i tell her to drop it she wont and if i try to open her mouth(my mom does that to her) she will growl to me lowly but she wont growl to my mom. Granted Ive been spending more time with maggie than sasha. But still. Last edited by FlyingNimbus; 07-20-2017 at 01:34 PM. |

| Training takes lots of patients and time. I am having to have significant patients with the rescue pup I got in April. She was doing great with potty training and today she peed in the house twice after not doing it for two weeks or more. Then I shut her out of my bedroom to get dressed the last two mornings and she wasn't alone but with my grandmother and mother but she pooped right in front of my door like she was mad I shut her out. She also picks up things but is getting drop it very well especially I have a treat. We have wood floors too and as long as you clean it, it dosent really mess up the wood floors in fact it easier then carpet. Just make sure the treats you are buying aren't made in China.

Im kinda mad at sasha because i know it was her that did it. She was in the dining room and then rushed to the carpet in living room, threw upon the carpet in two seperate areas. I know she doesnt know better but it felt a deliberate attempt to peeve me. I know she dont know better..., but ugh its frustrating. Sometimes i want to spray her with a correction water bottle but i know its not necessary. Itll pass i guess. SO now we leave her in a smaller bare room until she learns...

| My boy rarely vomits and when he did it was in the living room on the carpet, his head went down, ears plastered against his head like he did something really bad. I have to assume he was reprimanded by prev. owner when he did this with them. I have him 3 years and I guess he still remembers be scolded. I pet him and tell him it's ok, they can't help it when this happens. Never spray a dog with water for vomiting, all it will do is instill fear in the dog and cause confusion. If you do not want carpeting soiled gate it off so the dogs cannot get in that room.

I can tell she didnt do it out of revenge. She's a dog, a dog doesn't have the mental capability for revenge, spite, and complex feelings/actions like that. It still is tedious and quite annoying though-- it doesn't retract from it. However being that she's a dog she doesn't know better so we put up with the things we aren't fond of (not sure of anyone who would like their dog to soil their belongings and stuff) because we love them. Still sometimes we just have those days where nothing was going right. I've never yelled or tried to squirt her or anything unless she did something that would be self-harming (i.e. if we went outside and she picked up a rock and tried to eat it and I had no way to get her to leave it but to startle her-- because she might bite me then yeah). I just wish some of these things could atleast be better controlled. Been working on the leave it, and drop it command on both of them and no success. Tried different methods. Tried everything I could think of and no success. Also, I dont think sasha quite respects me as she does her owner. Our floors are clean, we vaccuum often, and they still try finding things to chew or eat-- even though both of them have assorted toys, and chewable things of their own. Sasha does at least listen to the command "go" (i point to a direction and say it and she goes to it)

Why any living-- organic being would think it's a good idea to eat vomit is beyond me(I wouldn't eat food if it fell on the ground-- much less if someone puked it out but I guess thats just a human thing too). But I guess its a dog thing. I guess I sometimes give them too much credit for being smart. Like sometimes I see them do things that I feel take some critical thinking skills and I start thinking they're as smart as a 5 year old. That is where my error comes in. I really shouldn't compare the two. I was mostly mad that day because I was worried about her, and her giving my other dog some illness. That and I don't really know how to clean that carpet well without you know ruining it... As it's one of those persian /arabian carpets... I don't really care much about the carpet itself but I didn't want to upset who the carpet belonged to. I will have to find a way to retrain sasha because while the vomit was unpreventable. She did poop inside--days after the diahrea incident.

Now, she still isnt to be trusted alone in places like the livingroom-- she will poop wherever even if you take her out to do her business often. She's surprised me before. What bothered me from that was mostly that she would pick a secluded area(behind the sofas) where I wouldnt see it and i wont notice it for days... (there are times where I spend more time in my room- and I bring my dog in my room). I just wished that in some areas of training I could get through to her easily. She still eats random crud off the floor(even in the yard-- well thats mostly where she does it). I doubt a piece of leaf will do any damage but I still dont want that habit.

| Most dogs actually try to do that so it is a normal behavior.
