| My oldest boy, who is a shih tzu - but I would think the same principles would apply to a yorkie - he started peeing in the house and also when he would sleep. I did speak to my veterinarian about it and one possibility, simply due to being older, is that the sphincter muscle that is related to peeing weakens. So an older dog can't hold it as long or you may notice that they pee a little bit when sleeping. I kinda got the impression that it's a common issue with older dogs. They start peeing inside cause they can't wait for you to open the door after alerting you or simply due to the time it takes for them to get out the house and get outside. Belly bands have been great for my boy. There's certainly a possibility it could be due to something else, maybe even something serious, but I'd think a veterinarian would be the person to speak to about it. |

| Vets often give older dogs prion to help with the too relaxed sphincter problem.
