| Introduction Hello, I am new to this community and so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Megan and I am a first time owner of a Yorkie. My Yorkie's name is Rose and she is almost 3 months old. I love her to pieces! We also have Malley, a 12 year old shih-tzu and Rose just loves to play with her. They pretty much bark at each other and run around and always want the toy that the other one has. Typical dog behavior! I think that having a puppy has brought Malley around to feeling younger and so Rose is a wonderful addition to our family. Malley's sister Macy (also a shih-tzu) recently passed away due to kidney failure. She was 15. Macy was the first dog that I had to put down and it was one of the most difficult things I have had to do in my life. While Rose is certainly not a replacement, she has helped to ease the pain. I look forward to learning about Rose through this forum and thank you all in advance for your knowledge and support. -Megan |

| Hello so sorry about your Macy. Just curiosity and an enjoyment of hearing yorkie stories...what made you choose a yorkie instead of another shih-tzu? PS would love to see pics of your pups |

| Welcome to YT Megan, so sorry for the loss of your sweet Macy it is devastating, feels like your heart has been ripped out, been there. Rose will help you heal. The pleasure you will get in seeing Malley being rejuvenated into a teenager is an added bonus. Selecting a yorkie is a whole different experience in dog ownership lol, they are mischievous, charming, entertaining, big personality, and huge attitude lol. They will have you wrapped around their little paw without you even knowing you are owned by a yorkie lol. Enjoy the puppy ride, they grow so fast. One other thing, keep all tissues, paper towels, napkins and toilet tissue out of reach, they LOVE to shred paper lol, it's a "yorkie thing" lol.

Oh, I can not agree with this statement enough! Mine has turned into such a spoiled brat, and my other one loved to shred newspapers, tissues (even used- ick!), important papers (we had to send our electric bill in once with a note explaining it was all ripped up due to the dog), even ripping wallpaper off the walls...Oh, and then there was my dad's tax returns, and the time he went in a contractor's bag and stole his blueprints... | |

| Lacey s mom, I wasn't really looking for a new pup when I got Rose. A lady at my mom's work has two Yorkies and they had a litter of four. She wanted them to go to good homes and wanted to know if we would want one. After meeting them, I had to have one. I picked Rose because she was that biggest and I like my little dogs to be big. 😄 I'd attach pictures but I am on my phone and all of my pictures are too big. I don't know how to shrink or compress them to post. 😯 matese, I think you are spot on! Thanks everyone! |
