| Concerned for newly adopted yorkie Hi guys, This is my first post here, I joined just to get some insight on what is going on with my pup. I am worried for lack of bathroom habits after relocating. My parents had a full bred yorkie (Maya) for a little over a year before my mother passed away recently. Of course, my dad held onto Maya in honor of mom, but yesterday has passed her on to me so he can be free to travel without restrictions. I live a few hours away from my parent's, but visit often. And when my mother passed away I spent over a month at the house, so the dog is well aware who I am. Yesterday, when my father dropped her off everything seem fine. I do have a Bombay cat (they have met before) and for the most part, they are good together. A bit of play fighting (no yelping, biting, scratching, hissing or barking) but they mostly stay away from each other but remain curious. I believe in time they'll be good friends, they already sleep quite close last night. There is only one thing that is really alarming to me. At my parent's house, she had a routine. Wake up, pee, go back to bed for a bit. Then around an hour after eating her breakfast she would go to the washroom again. She is 100% pad trained, has been since she was a puppy and never makes a mess. She has been here for around 24 hours, and has yet to go to the washroom. We went out for a walk yesterday, and she peed. After that - nothing. Nothing all last night, and nothing as of yet (writing this at 1:30PM). I have shown her where her pads are, pointed to it and told her to go. She just looks at me confused. I'm wondering if this is normal after relocation, or if I should be concerned. Am I doing something wrong, not doing something? etc. (A while ago, at my old apartment I babysat, and she used her pads no problem. I also had the cat at that time as well) I apologize for this being long, but I really hope someone can please help me out. The last thing I need is for this little girl to be worried or sick! Thanks in advance. - eriatarrka and Maya |
