Senior Yorkie Talker | Netflix Documentary - Pet Fooled I justed watched a Doc. on Netflix it was about pet health and manufacted pet food on the market today, some vets on the show feed thier dogs a raw food diet, because it is closer to thier natural diet, dogs do not naturally eats grains. It is really worth watching and I would appreciate your comments. Does anyone feed thier Yorkies a raw diet, I am extremely concerned, but interested, because it seems like the manufactures food is not healthy and causes varius health problems. Is this raw food diet approptiate for a Yorkie, they can have a sensitive tummy. All comments appreciated. |

| Hi, Yes, I feed my two babies a (commercial) raw diet. The brand I use is Primal and Vital Essentials (frozen and freeze dried). I also add goats milk and natural supplements (such as pre/probiotics). Primal and VE do not add synthetic vitamins and additives. By end of this year/early next year, I will switch to a 100% homemade raw. My babies have always had silky long hair and clear shinny eyes but their teeth are in even better shape and they love raw and have not had any issues. If you haven't already, please look into making a switch.

| There is a thread about this in the health section. I personal would not feed raw due to all the issues that can come from it. I think home cooking is a better option when you do it right. Don't get to fooled by that documentary I have heard they are very very pushy on raw food.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yes, I've fed raw for about 8 years now and just LOVE it for my babies so much! It's so fresh and unprocessed, and they digest the food - rather than just poop it out the other end (ew!). I like Better In The Raw, Primal, Natures Variety, Stella and Chewys etc... Better In The Raw is the one where you buy the powder, and just add your own raw meat.
