| **Free feeding Pup** Hi, so my Niko is 14 weeks today and doing well with food - I still have him on the Royal Canin x-small puppy formula, so my question is - how long do I continue to "free feed" him, and how long should he stay on this particular formula? Thanks! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You can free feed him forever, or, migrate him to scheduled meals - that's up to you. He should transition to adult food anywhere form 6-10 mths.

| I started free-feeding mine when they were puppies & figured if they ever started getting chubby I'd have to change things. At 9 & 13 years old they are/were still slim.

| Free feed My little girl has been free feeding since birth. She 10 years old now and her weight has been steady since she reached adulthood. I trust her instincts to tell her when to eat. |

| Emma is 3 and I've free fed her since she came home. I hadn't changed her schedule as its pretty much the same as when she was with her breeder. Only difference is that I outside trained her and the breeder used pads.
