| I'm a Yorkie Mama now! Hi everyone! We just welcomed our little Yorkie girl "Gisele" this March. She is the cutest little thing! We had lost our precious Shih Tzu "Penny" this winter and she was only 2 yrs. it was devastating to us and to our boy Daschund "Brady". They were the best companions. I began to look for a new breed and knew I wanted a small dog. My daughter and I began to look into the Yorkie and we fell in love. Coincidentally when we first met the breeder I asked when the pups were born. Turned out that they were born on "Penny's " birthday. I knew then it was a sign that this little girl was the one. Brady has taken to her so well and she adores her big brother. They make quite a pair Brady & Gisele. Gisele is now 16 weeks and weighs 3.3lbs. She has learned how to sit, give paw and lay down. I'm teaching her to sit pretty now. She is soooo smart! I've heard that yorkies are good at learning tricks- I would say definitely! Gisele sleeps in her crate at night in my room and she loves it. Now she is sleeping through the night. She has been pretty good going potty outside but I do keep a pee pad near the door and she will go on it if need be. She is full of energy-loves to walk and go shopping! Right now I'm working on getting her to get used to grooming. She does great with the bath and blow dry but she tries to bite the comb sometimes when I do her daily groom. I'm working on getting her used to it! It will take some time but hopefully we will get there! She can be mouthy when she plays like all puppy's, but we have been working on that too and she is getting much better. She has so much personality. I just love her so much and am so happy she has come into our family. It's great to be here. I love reading everyone's posts. They are so helpful! |
