| New pup!! Just got a 12 week old 2 pound (currently) Yorkie girl. I currently have a 4 1/2 year old "spoiled only yorkie male" . HE IS SCARED OF THIS NEW PUP!! He won't come out from under the bed. What am I going to do???? He is our baby so if he is traumatized over this I'll need to give this new puppy away! Please tell me things will be okay or what to do - I really don't want to give her to anyone (which would be family or a very very close friend). |

| I think you just need to give them time. Max walked around Sasha on pins and needles when we first brought her home but now they are inseparable. He has been the only one for 4 years so it will take him a little time but my guess is they will bond. Make sure to give him lots of attention (and treats go a long way too!)

| Welcome to YT. Your boy is scared because he doesn't know the puppy is a dog, puppies have a different scent, that added to a frisky pouncing puppy scares your boy. Make sure he has a save haven to get away from the puppy. Don't force a friendship. Let your boy go to the puppy on his time, his terms. When ever I bought home a new baby my girls headed for high grounds, the sofa lol. It took my older girls 6 weeks to 2 months to stay on the floor and play with the new kid. Make your older boy first in everything, first to be greeted when you come home, first for treats, first to be fed He will except the puppy, but, on his time. Soon they will be BFF.

| Thank you. I got the pup for him to have company and play. He loves "camp bow wow" and daycare I take him to once a week to play with other dogs for a few hours. He loves it - he is jumping out of my arms when we go so I was shocked he was not taking to the pup. Well hopefully a few weeks and they'll be best friends |

| That's fantastic that he like dogs, don't worry, soon they will both be zooming through the house. For now, make sure he has a safe place away from the puppy. I had a pack of 3 females, all 3 years apart, all now passed, so I went through this twice lol. Just make him feel he is still # 1, give him extra attention, he will be just fine.

| Also the pup has the runs. First day with her and she said she fed her Diamond Feed. Is that normal? |

| Don't worry! I'm currently going through the same thing. Some dogs take longer than others to warm up to a new dog. My other Yorkie loves Leo our new puppy but our Maltese Bella is BARELY warming up to him now she still leaves everytime he gets near her but I have them all sleeping in the same kennel and I think that helps. |

| Mine also had diarrhea the next day but I think it was from feeding him canned food. Stick to dry food and try to feed her the same thing the breeder was feeding. |

| It takes sometime maybe hold the pup and have your boy come over and give him a treat.

| It takes time, just got through it, same scenario. The older dog is still not in love but he's not hiding anymore and they do play occasionally. Just let them be, the older dog will come around at his own pace. |

| Don't fret. It takes time for the older one to accept the new puppy. Just make sure you supervise them whenever they interact. When you're not around, you need to separate them, whether in an x-pen/crate/separate room. It definitely helps if you do training sessions with them together. You'll find that the puppy will learn faster by observing the older one. She'll also learn the hierarchy of the house and that you're the boss. She needs to know that, so that if/when they play too rough, you can stop them (i.e. puppy biting on adult dog's tail/legs is very typical). Runs is not normal, no. Are you using the same kibble that the puppy was on at your breeders?

| Did you change the food the breeder was feeding him? If you did, that would cause diarrhea. I see you asked this question several days ago, how is the puppy doing now.

| Her stomach trouble could be nerves/excitement from being in a new environment. |
