| Breeds I rescued two yorkies at separate times. One is definitely a cross. The other I was told is full breed. While i don't care what they are, it is nagging me a bit as to what they might be crossed with. Frankie is the straight haired and Toby is the one that looks and acts like a lamb 😓 lol. It's more Frankie ears that I can't figure out. Anyone any ideas? Last edited by BonnieRobinson; 02-01-2017 at 04:51 AM. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | What immediately comes to mind with the curly coat is poodle, or another breed with curly coat. The ears lol, well they are quite wide set which can tend to emphasize their size. It is quite possible that one or even both can be Yorkies just not well bred ones. It is incredibly difficult to breed to the standard for Yorkies and sometimes even show breeders have a pup or two with bad coats either in texture or Colorado or both. Ditto with ear set n size.

| I had been debating poodle lol. He has long legs too which made me think poodle. Not that it matters. They are both very lovable and mostly good boys |

| They also both look yorkie to me, the wavy hair, I had one girl with wavy hair, I am sure she was a ill bred puppy mill girl, I had to keep her in a puppy cut because of the wavy hair, puppy cut looked adorable on her. Your other baby with the large ears. My last girl was a BIG girl, she was pure AKC registered yorkie, as an adult he weighed in at 17 pounds and had the biggest most beautiful German Shepard ears. My adopted boy weighs 12 pounds and also has huge ears. I LOVE BIG ears. Both my big ears babies I had the groomer leave fringes on their ears, which reduces the huge appearance and fit their face better. They are both adorable babies and thank you for rescuing.

| Thank you matese. There aren't that many curly yorkies about. Both these wee imps are adopted but Toby was taken from a puppy farm but he was misused as a stud dog. He was a sorry state. I would keep him cut short but his coat is so thin he gets cold easily. I love Frankies big ears. He was taken out of the pound by the rescue centre so they just guessed him as a cross I think. I can't find any other breed to match him lol. It doesn't matter to me really I just couldn't figure out where his ears came from lol. They are both lovely dogs and I would no longer dream of buying off breeders. |
