Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | parvo and distemper combination shot We took Baby Blessing in for her last shot which was to be the distemper (signing in as this was what we was there for) prior to her getting the injection Jack asked what the shot was, the assistant at the vets office said, " it is a combination of Parvo and Distemper, we are out of just the distemper single dose." Needless to say we left without her getting the shot. We are to take her back in a week as they had to order the just distemper . They also was going to charge us for both She has had all her shots cept for the last distemper, then her rabies when it is time. After calling around we found that the other vets dont give the just distemper shot either they use the combo. The frustrateing part is that she would have gotten this if Jack hadn't asked before hand, besides having to pay for something she didn't need and we are ones that don't give any more than what is needed. |

| It is sad because we want to trust our vets but as many members have learned we can't. We have to do our homework and know what is best for these special little dogs.

| I am really glad that your husband asked, I wish I would have known everything to ask when I first got Homer, he was so tiny and they didnt break up the shots. He had a really bad allergic reaction and would have died had I not rushed him to the emergency room. With the rest of his shots and all of Kady's I make sure that they give him 1/2 one week and the other 1/2 the next. My new vet also likes to keep the little ones for a few hours to observe them. It is very scary when you dont trust your vet. If I were you I probably wouldnt return to that vet again.
