| this is hilarious! I don't recall spelling out in front of them. But I do try to use synonyms of words they don't know when I don't want them to know what I'm talking about.

| Absolutely w-a-l-k, but truth be told, I think Pipe has figured that one out because after spelling it, I'll turn to look at her and Piper is poised for a jaunt. Coincidence? I don't think so...Heck, just thinking out loud and saying the word going (as in I'm going to vacuum), gets Piper revved. I also have to use different words for chicken jerky...like 'tough poultry' or refer to it as her 'biggie favorite.' You spelled something, right? I heard letters. Do I know the word? C'mon... |

| Haha! This is hilarious! I haven’t had to start spelling things in front of my girls yet. I do ask them if they want to go for a “W” when it’s time for a walk but that’s just to get them excited. When my GSD was alive we couldn’t say or spell “walk”, “go”, “leash” or “out” without her running to the front door… that got interesting! |

| We have to spell o-u-t or all three will go nuts. We also have to spell deer. However, the spelling sounds much like the pronunciation so we have to do it slowly or Barney has a fit. I never thought about it being odd until you brought it up.

| That is so funny. I was watching a TV program about a month ago and they were saying that research shows that dogs can pick up on about 150 words, so guess you have to fool your little one by spelling. I will try that sometime.

| We used to spell out b-a-double l , as Wookie goes nuts for her balls, but she's now cottoned on to that! We now call it 'You know who's favourite'! Lol. |
