| Can anyone tell what this yorkie is mixed with? Hello Everyone! I'm talking with another fellow yorkie owner who is fostering this beautiful girl (hope the pics go through), her markings are yorkie, but her face is something that I just can't quite make out. Her foster mommy said she has the longest legs she's ever seen on a yorkie. She reminds me of the dog Benji in the 80's especially in the face. what do you all think? |

| For some reason I can't enlarge the pics but to me she looks all yorkie. Yorkies come in all shapes & sizes, maybe it's just her hair cut throwing you off. She is a cutie for sure. |

| Welcome to YT, from the picture she looks like a big girl weighing over 12 pounds. My now passed girl as an adult weighed in at 17 pounds, she was pure yorkie, AKC registered. When a yorkie is this big they look different then the wee little 5 to 7 pounds babies, their snouts are longer, bodies are longer and legs are longer. I see her tail is not cropped so I'm going to go with this pup was breed from a BYB (back yard breeder). You get two ppl, one has a female, one has a male, hey, lets mate them up, no genetic testing is ever done, just throw the two dogs together and this is what you get. I believe this pup is not a mix, just bad breeding. She looks all yorkie to me based on "just" a picture. There are DNA's that can be performed to tell if she is a mix, and what the other dog was. Because my baby had long legs I kept her coat a bit longer NEVER in a puppy cut, just let it grow to her leg elbows (knees), this took away the long leg look, I have a pic. of her in my album, it's a side pic to show her sleek beautiful body, you can see her hair length in that pic. If you are thinking of adopting this baby, meet with her, she what her personality is, this could be the baby that will fill that gap in your heart. She sure is a little cutie.

I tend to agree with the posters above except your dog has drop ears vs. prick ears, which are present in nearly every full blood YT Coat is def YT pigmentation/ pattern tho looks a little wirey too - I would venture a possible mix with a larger terrier with a coarser coat especially if she is not full grown.

| As far as I know she is 10 months old. Someone on another group said she is a Snorky-mix of schnauzer and yorkie. I still have to meet her though. |

| My first two AKC yorkies had floppy ears, at that time I didn't know about taping. The 2nd floppy ear gal, one ear at times would go sideways lol, My last two girls had straight ears and my adopted boy has straight ears, a floppy ear yorkie does not mean it is a mix dog.

| Sorry couldn't reply earlier. Ela's 6 months old I have not check her weight since she was 4 months old and sh was 6.7 lbs. I think now she's like 9lbs. Although Ela does not have floppy ears most of the large or big yorkies I''ve seen have floppy ears. |

| What a beautiful lil girl Ela is, she reminds me of my now passed Matese at 6 months old who as an adult weighed in at 17 gorgeous pounds and had huge beautiful stand up ears. My now 12 pound adopted boy has straight huge straight ears also lol, I LOVE HUGE ears lol. For anyone unfamiliar with the yorkie breed reading this thread a larger yorkie does not mean they will have floppy ears, it all depends on the "dog" and taping while they are teething may help ears that droop stand straight after the teething is over.
