| Struggling to cope with the death of our yorkie 💔 Hi I'm looking for some comfort on coping with the death of our wee yorkie Katie....our hearts are truley broken. She belonged to my mum and dad but she has been in all our life's for 15 years. She had an amazing life but she has been struggling the last few month. She suffered from cronic bronchitis she was on alot of medication and was also very deaf. She was such am amazing wee dog and a massive part of our family. On Friday she took a turn for the worse and was really struggling to breath when my dad took her to the vet the vet said do you think it's time and sadly my dad had to say yes...it would be selfish not to say that. It's been the worest few days of our lifes I've never felt grief like that and to see my mum and dad so devastated it is breaking my heart. We brought her home and laid her to rest in the garden my mum has got it looking beautiful...I'm just struggling to exept she is out there under the ground. I wished I knew for sure she is still with us in spirit....when will the pain go away? When will this ever get easier? |

| I'm so sorry for your loss. It seems so hard right now but there will come a time when you can sit and remember her without tears, it will be a slow process but you have. 15 years of beautiful memories to get you through the dark days . She must have been so loved and she would know this and you have to find comfort in that . We have lost 2 yorkies over the years , Max who was 13 and Pebbles who was my parents dog at 15 years old we loved them both dearly . I have 2 babies now that are 12 and 11 and I love them to bits , I dread the day anything happens to them as I will be devastated but I will know in my heart they will always be there. I hope you and your parents find comfort in the fact that Katie is not suffering and that she had a long and beautiful life and that you should be proud of that .

| I am so sorry to read about the loss of your dear Katie. You have to realize you were so fortunate to have her for fifteen years. Your mom and dad did something right to have her all those years. I lost my yorkie Keally at twelve and a half years and she fought IBD all her life which was a genetic thing. We were so devastated but you have to do this. Think of all the wonderful memories you have of Katie. If she was looking down from heaven she would want you and your family to be happy. Katie knew you loved her so much and she had a wonderful home. Your dad gave her a gift of not suffering where some people let their babies suffer. Try to do a nice memorial of her. I have pictures framed on my wall of Keally and I smile everyday seeing her. It has been over six years of her death but we still think of her everyday. We did go on and have another angel Kinder now. I know Keally wanted me to give another yorkie lots of love so there is a bright side. You need to cry and talk about your loss it helps you heal. Each day will get better and I hope this helps. Sending a hug to your family. Susan |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I am so sorry for your loss... I understand your pain. I've had several fur baby looses in the past few year and as recent as this past Saturday when after complication with surgery and two other diagnoses my mothers 12 yr old pup was put to sleep. It's just like loosing a family member and I can tell you that the pain is just as great but it does get better with time. I miss my girl each and every day, the pain has minimized but still very present. I believe in the afterlife... and that is true for our fur babies as well. I've experienced their presence many many times. You'll know when your pup is near.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is incredibly heartbreaking. It does get easier, but the loss is always there...no one can replace these little ones. Try to remember the beautiful life you gave her !

| Death of a loved dog I know your pain. It is no different from any death of a family member I think. I remember having to take 3 days off work when one of my dogs died years ago, because I couldn't stop crying. We brought our last 2 dogs back from Greece in 2001 and the last one Rosie died last November. In June this year we got little Jack a Yorkie whom we adore, but I could still cry about any of our dogs. We have our last 4 dogs buried in our garden and I always talk to them all. I firmly believe our soul lives on after our body has died, and so do our animals' souls. One day I believe we will meet again. What a beautiful thought. Big hugs to you all Pauline Hasan |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you. I just logged on to write about my little Abby, who passed away 1 year ago this Friday, and saw your post. I know how difficult a time it is for you and your family. It does help to think of all the love and wonderful times you had together, I know how hard it is right now. Last year I dedicated our Xmas tree to Abby with some pictures in ornaments. My thoughts are with you. |

| One of the truest quotes I have ever seen is "A dog gives you their heart when they come into your life and take a piece of yours when they go". In between are all of the wonderful fun times, the warm lap and the puppy kisses.

| My sincere condolences to you and your family. I truly feel your pain, as my beloved 13.5 year old Max recently passed away after suffering from kidney failure. It all happened very quickly and I am still in mourning. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |
