| Update on Gabby-question (new yorkie owner) I had several posts to my 1st and only post a few weeks back about the pee-pad question. I want to post her picture on here, and as soon as I get them developed, I'll see about getting one on here. Gabby is so sweet. She's pretty hyper, and I don't know if that's the breed in general, or if she still has a lot of puppy left in her. She's not 6 mo's, like I first mentioned, she turned 5 months old Jan. 13th. She still goes on the pee-pads 95% of the time, but perhaps once or twice at the most in an entire week, she might squat and go on the carpet someplace. Don't know why????? And, she now NEVER, ever poops on the pad. I'm not as concerned about the poop...I know that sounds gross, I mean, I wish she'd do both on pads, but the poop is easier to just pick up, verses having to clean up pee on the carpets, etc. So I'm thankful she pees on the pad. Anyone know why she might go on the carpet once in a while? I change her pads regularly, and I've also tried leaving one down longer, (to have the spots on them for her to smell). I don't get it. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Can't wait to see pictures of her. Cali was real hyper until she hit about 6 months old. I have seen a definite difference in her activity level in the past month. She is 7 months old now. She will still miss the pad once in awhile for poop, never for pee. I think it's because they tend to move around when pooping and just don't stay on the small pad. I alos agree with you on the poop, much easier to clean up!

| Thanks for the imput! I don't understand why she goes searching for a spot to poop. I've even tried putting her poop on the pad, and that doesn't work either. *sigh* Makes you wonder what's going on in those little heads of theirs! Your baby is sooooo cute! I'll have some pics up soon of mine.....

| Congratulations on Gabby's pee pee success on the pad!! I think that's excellent for her age. Do you reward/praise her when she goes on the pad? We found that since they are so anxious to please us that if we would "celebrate" when Toto went pee on the pad that she would "get it" when we celebrated her going poop there also .... it worked!!! We quickly found that she didn't like going on a pad if there was a single pee spot and it got pretty expensive using so many pads each day. I tried cutting a pad into 4 equal squares and just covering the spot .... worked like a charm!!! The poop, I just flush! Toto is 2 1/2 yrs. now and just the smartest little girl we have ever seen ... she is eager to learn and lack of training is our fault, not hers!! BTW .... even if the poop is "near" the pad, we still celebrate the effort! She has the really long hair & sometimes it hangs on & doesn't drop until she has walked away from the pad!!

| I hear you Betty! Gabby is doing better, she hasn't pee'd on the floor in over a week, but still poops on the floor. At this point, I don't care.....as long as she doesn't get the "runs"........hahaha Thanks for responding!
