| Yorkie Hypoglycemia How severe is hypoglycemia in Yorkies? I had finally decided to become a Yorkie owner, but then found out about the natural hypoglycemic tendies of Yorkie puppies--and the importance of rapid response to it. If I were to get a Yorkie, I would be away from it from more than twelve hours with no others nearby. Although this can't be called a rare occurrence, it isn't a common one either. Is this a problem for a hypoglycemic Yorkie (from my research, the answer to that is yes, but I would still like the input of actual Yorkie owners)? What is the best way to help a hypoglycemic Yorkie? Are twelve-hour absences manageable for a hypoglycemic Yorkie? |

| Being away from a puppy for over 12 hours a day is just to much in my opinion. You will have a hard time potty training and everything else. I don't think it would be real fair for the pup either. Maybe you should look into rescuing an adult dog. The yorkies I have had have been very people oriented and one of them even gets sick like if she doesn't get enough human interaction.

| I agree, being gone for 12 hours a day is too much for any puppy yet a lone a yorkie. all Dogs love interactions, so either don't get a dog, any dog, because it doesn't sound like you have time to devote to a dog or you'll have to put the dog in doggy day care everyday while you're at work, which can get pretty expensive. |

| Also agree. I try to find a babysitter when my job goes longer than five hours. And I try to walk him more on those days. I would be hesitant to get a pet with that long of an absence, unfortunately. Is a puppy day care an option for you?
