| Chewie (and us!) had a nasty scare tonight WE had a nasty scare tonight during her bedtime routine with a neighbor pounding and screaming. She was at the door when he flew at my husband. I've seen her anxious before where she huffs and holds her breath. I'm being VERY cautious right now so I need to know if it's normal that they breathe so fast when resting and going in and out of sleep lying down. Last night she got scared at that same neighbor pounding on the walls and it's where I for the first time saw her hold her breath. I know I can be a huge worry wart, but this wasn't just normal screaming, the guy got physical and almost clipped her with his foot. Yes, we called the police. |

| How awful about your neighbor. Not sure I understand about your pup... are you saying your pup holds its breath? Glad you called the police. Sounds like some type of mental health issue or drug issue. Scary.

To any one that is wondering, most of us have bought these condos- they are one of the few renters. Add in to the Mother never being around at night, these boys are out of control. Police knew them pretty well. I'd definitely guess drugs. He then went on to two more neighbors banging and screaming what the noise was. I'm still shaking. They owned a yorkie. Um, I had to call animal control on them. I'm not sure if it was my call, or what, but they finally gave the Mother yorkie up. They also abused their pups, and left a tub of butter out as "dinner" for the smaller puppies. Kicked the Mom dog for rejecting one of her puppies.. just the list goes on. I'm hoping that we have enough compiled against them for an eviction. sorry for the novel. I felt bad about calling but, I was assured that I was absolutely doing the right thing. I hope that little girl is in good hands now. Her puppies were adopted a few months before all of this. I heard most of this, and one of my daughter's friends witnessed the butter. any way, I'll stop rambling. | |

OMG that second paragraph!! What absolutely HORRIBLE human beings! I would be so terribly upset if any neighbor treated animals this way. What the h is wrong with these people??!!?

| The 'holding breath' sounds similar to when Piper is hot and panting, but something catches her attention and thwoop, in goes the tongue, head tilts as she strains to hear what she thought she heard...Couple seconds later, tongue comes out--just a little bit and panting is short, controlled...Finally, another second later, Pipe decides there's nothing to hear and it's back to full-tilt panting! |

| I know. I'm a notorious people pleaser, and I don't like to cause strife. Ever. For me to pick up the phone means I was very angry. Only time I've done that was when E was attacked by a neighbor on the other side who lets her dogs off the leash. However, after the butter incident and the same night when poor pup was super sick, Mama rejected him. something totally normal. I heard a HUGE squeal and cry. I cried with this poor girl. I could hear screaming and yelling. That's when my daughter's friend explained he'd seen them kick her, and was kicking her earlier that day. So, I had a very clear picture of what was going on. I picked up the phone 6 hours later. I couldn't sleep. I don't understand. They are so sweet. Only a sick son of a Beep would hurt an animal. It would have hurt me any way to hear that, but after having Chewie, it's even worse. If he had actually hurt my girl last night I would have gone stark raving mad. I called the cops without the slightest bit of hesitation. |
