| Teapot Yorkies, Droopy Ears? I have two Yorkies, the older, about 4 years old, 6 lbs, is average sized. The baby however, was almost 8 pounds at 4 months. Now, at 5 months I would guess him to be 10+. He eats like a horse and has typically gained about 1 pound a week, most definitely a teapot. I've become fascinated with teapots and really curious about both their size at various ages and also ear status. I saw a few pictures people have posted here of their teapots and it seemed if many of them have droopy ears? Or is this just coincidental? My teapot's ear size is average but they still droop at 5 months. I did considered doing the taping thing on him, but since it really doesn't matter, it hasn't been worth the trouble. I've attached a recent picture of him including a chewed chair leg in the background and "stuff" all over my dark wood floors! (Oh to go back in time, pre-dogs, and change my choice of flooring) I would love to see more pictures of the teapots and hear about them. Let me know if you have posted something, or add it here. |

| I think mine is a teapot. (He's my avatar pic.) His ears were droopy until around 6 months. Right now, he's nine months and weighs almost 13 pounds. I love that he's so big and sturdy!

| I'm not sure about that. My friend had a 16 pounder and his ears stood up. I have a 7 pounder with ears that stand up and a 3 pounder with droopy ears. My friend has a 2.5 pounder with droopy ears. I think it may have more to do with if/how long the breeder tapes the ears. My 7 pounder came to me with his ears taped, my smaller one didn't. I think sometime ears that droop as they're puppies stand up later on. |

| Sooooo cute! I have a 16 pounder and she has floppy ears and I love it. My newest is 6 months and he is almost 8 pounds and has huge standing ears.
