| Need help!!! We a suspicious looking grown man making a shortcut through the yards in my cul-de-sac. I have alerted the sheriff's office, and they have a deputy that lives in our neighborhood to be on the lookout. However, I am terrified of my babies being stolen if he or anyone else were to break in. I have an appointment Wednesday for both of them to be microchipped. My question is how painful is it for them. They assure me it's not a surgery and no need for sedation, but the needle is pretty big. Someone with knowledge please reassure me! Thanks! |

| Does not hurt them at all!! They will not hardly feel it, that needle they use is sooooo sharp. In addition to the microchips, I would buy decals on line, that you can put in your windows that indicate you have an alarm system....you can even buy "cameras complete with blinking lights" to hang around the perimeter of your home and garage, that LOOK like an active alarm system. |

| When I took Piper in for chipping and saw that needle, my knees got weak! Gentleman told me chip is about size of grain of rice; he said I should be careful around area of insertion for a couple of days, and before I could blink, chip was inserted and he was handing Piper to me. Lemme tell ya, I was a wreck, but Piper nothing---as usual, she simply enjoyed being out and about! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It's a large needle - so yes, it may hurt a little bit - but it's SUPER fast, and it's done. No real big deal at all. It's more important to get it done. We have an alarm on our house (ADT), which makes me feel better about anyone breaking it and stealing our babies. Can you get that for your house so you'd feel better...?
