| Larger Yorkie Moms & Dads Unite! I am a proud momma of a 10+ pound Yorkie! We need to educate the world that just because a Yorkie is over 7 pounds, doesn't mean they're not "purebred", or their "not wanted"! My little guy is perfect! Vet says he's in perfect health! He's active, loves to play and is a little gentleman when it comes to the ladies! He'll let them go out the door first, lets them push him around, & lets them eat before he does. Dog, cat, human ... it doesn't matter! He's smart, funny, adorable, my side kick and loves to hang out of the car when we go for a ride. He's the perfect size for us, is purebred and we couldn't be happier. He fills our house with love, laughter and stuffing from his toys! Larger Yorkie Parents, Unite!

| I'm a larger Yorkie mom -- 5'9" tall. My boys are 9+ pounds and 11.5" to the shoulder. Small compared to me. Lots of Yorkies here of all sizes.

| I have had nothing but large yorkies, my now passed girl weighed in at 17 lbs, beautiful sleek body, I had two that weighed 13 lbs one was 9 lbs, and my rescue boy is tiny compared to 17 years with a 17 lb girl, he weighs 12 lbs. I adore the 5 / 7 lb tiny's but the larger yorkie fits better into my life style.

| My Piper is 9 1/2 lbs of pure perfection (for me)! She's just littlelittlelittle and very easy to hold. She is also large enough to negotiate steps, getting on and off furniture, in and out of car and so; and though I've almost sat on her a couple of times when she "steals" my place on couch, I don't worry about stepping on her... |

| My boy is well over 10 pounds for sure and he's purebred!! I've gotten so many comments about him not being a "real yorkie" but my family loves him to pieces He has such long legs that once we met a yorkie who was as tall as his legs... I don't think size matters at all:P If anything he's the sweetest little boy. |

| Mine is 12 pounds and only eight months. I figured he'd be big when I got him at 13 weeks and he was already 6 pounds!

| POSTED BY MISSPIXIE (sp?) and I think it's a brilliant definition for the uninitiated who question whether or not our dogs are Yorkies: The Yorkie is a toy breed. The standard of this toy breed is anything less than 7 pounds. A Yorkie can be 3 pounds or 23 pounds and it would be a Yorkie. No miniature* no teacup * no micro * no teaspoon * no anything other than a Yorkie. __________________ |

YT 500 Club Member | My Toby is 15 lbs of pure entertainment. He is an ass. Lol. He walks on two legs all the time...he climbs & reaches for things cupping his paws like hands, he plays defensive soccer like a boss, he argues with basketballs... And he's big enough to protect my smaller girls (6 & 7 lbs) . He's got so much personality and he's huge compared to most Yorkies and i wouldn't trade him for the world.
