What did this puppy pass away from? Did you get your vet records and send them to the breeder? Most breeders will not do anything unless there is real proof that the puppy had passed from genetic problems instead of negligence. I have been to Korys, her place is beautiful. Super clean, all the dogs groomed and cared for with lots of attention. I have known Kory for many years and been to her place many times and the only problem I have with her place is her drive way is hard to manage.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet baby. At some point in time it would be very beneficial for you to post about your babies illness for others who are looking to purchase a new yorkie puppy. This site is often a learning tool for soon to be new yorkie owners. The more people can educate themselves Before they actually purchase a puppy the better. Hopefully the more people we can educate, these types of breeders will be out of business. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss but even more so that this sweet baby had to suffer her whole life due to bad breeding.

Again, to drag someones name thorough the mud with no proof is simply gossip and is unfair and unkind. To call someone who has been breeding that long a bad breeder without solid proof is unreasonable and remember that what you write can not be unwritten on the internet. Passing around rumors with no proof is called deformation of character and opens you up to be sued for slander or libel.

I find it interesting that you would come here, find this thread as a newbie and post *this* message on it without knowing anything whatsoever about this person's tragic loss. Why are you here to defend this breeder on this thread? Very curious. Yes, there are 2 sides to every story -- but why are you on this ONE side...?

The nicest people can have good intentions. But honestly (imo), breeding dogs to be that small is just cruel. Why must we, humankind, be breeding animals to be so unnaturally small, just to satisfy our desire for cute little things?! I'm sorry, but just because you've been doing it for 35 years, doesn't make it a good/right thing.

Thank you for your welcome. Being new, I was unsure how I would be received, especially with the story of my experience. Upon reading some of the threads in the breeder section, I felt a hint of a “member exclusivity” and “pack mentality” toward others who were outside the “group” which have been almost viscious. Bordering on liable, my lawyer cousin and I had a discussion concerning the fine line between freedom of speech and slander with the intention of defaming a person or business. Having said that, I like the premise of a Yorkshire community and will continue to peruse other forums before arriving at a judgment encompassing the entity at large. Thanks again for the hello.

Hmm...it certainly is a fine line between freedom of speech and slander. But if we're not able to voice our opinions of what we think are right vs wrong, then, how will the general public know better or have the chance to think for themselves? If this is all considered slander, then we'd all be ignorant and buy all these teacup Yorkies assuming it's a good thing?

IF what this pup died of is GENETIC and/or HERREDITARY it most certainly is NOT liable and/or slander & anyone who buys a pup from this so called "Breeder" has the rite to have this information. AND IF this breeder had a half of a brain & would work with this OP to find out what this pup died of & it is herreditery or congenital then this breeder would spay/neuter this pups parents ASAP. Tawny was not a teacup Yorkey. She was a beautiful dog almost show perfect she weighed 4 pounds and had a long beautiful coat. What I said about Kory was the truth everything happened as I said no rumors no gossip. The proof is in a poor dead dog! She died of low protein which causes water build up in the tissues. The vet said that we could keep her alive for about six months but she would be in pain, so we decided it would be best to put her down. I know that Kory is probably a good person but we had our problems with her. I would never deal with her and I hope no one else does.

I am sorry she & you had to go through this . Just remember this, You were her people & you loved her dearly & cared for her well & she loved you dearly. Without you this sweet girl probably would not have had the life you provided her ( the BEST life ) she could have had & maybe she would have never lived past her 1st year. She knew she was loved & you gave her that feeling & no matter how long or short her life was, she had more in her life then lots of pets ever get. You gave her your all & in the end, you did the kindest thing you could.
