| Pet Poisoning- Sago Palm I had no idea at first, but I was grateful to learn about the dangers of Sago Palms when one of our members, LadyJane first posted it here alerting all Yorkie parents. As a result, we changed our daily walking route avoiding the many houses in the neighborhood where Sago Palms are planted in front yards with its dropped seeds riddling the sidewalks... a huge problem for pups that like to pick up things in their mouths. For those of you who don't already know... every part of the plant is poisonous. Good Morning America did a piece on this today which I would like to share with all the new Yorkie parents who are unaware and as a reminder to the rest of us to please take care and keep your pups safe! https://gma.yahoo.com/sago-palm-plan...news-pets.html

| Wow, thanks for the info! I had no idea. I'm from South Carolina, and palm trees are kind of our thing so I'll need to be on the lookout.

| I wanted a Sago for years. I finally found a great place for one and planted it by my koi pound. After years of growing I found out how dangerous they were. It is gone.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yeah...most of us have long been aware of the Sago bc we've had members lose their yorkies here to the sago palm. We have a Sago Palm thread in the Emergency Library at all times: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/eme...poisonous.html And lots of other info about toxins and other emergent things here: EMERGENCY Help Library - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community

| I don't have the slightest idea of how many pups this information would save. Thanks for sharing! |

| Wow, who knew?! I mean I would just never suspect that a common plant could be so very deadly--scary stuff. Thank you for sharing this information...As always, the more we know, the better. |
