| What in the World is Perseus Doing???? Okay, this puppy is going to be the death of me. He is the sweetest baby. The vet's office and Petsmart (he went to get the hair trimmed around his eyes) love him. Petsmart said he is the best Yorkie puppy they ever had -- never made a sound the whole time. However, my sweet Percy likes to eat his poop and/or take it into his kennel and lay on it (ewwww)!!!! I'm hoping it's because he's still a baby (15 weeks old). Does pineapple really work?? Just look at his sweet face! Does that look like a poo-poo eater - LOL? It's hard, but this is just grossing me out!! |

| Lol! Pineapple does work. I give a 1/4 of a ring in the morning and at night. Also s.e.p. is awesome. It's a powder called stop eating poop. It works as long as you give it to them. Make sure you use it consistently and long enough to really break the habit. I give the sep as directed and I mix it with a spoon full of plain unsweetened yoghurt. My girls think it's a treat Good luck!!! Btw- he's just as cute as it gets!!!!

| Also, if you have other pups (I'm pretty sure you do) give it to them too. You don't want little one to start eating the others'.

| MissPixi, I do have another Yorkie. That is what I was afraid of as well. Of course, Zeusy comes and "tells" us when he's gone potty and wants it picked up immediately, and he doesn't poo when we're gone from home. He is one one of those that, God forbid, if a piece gets "stuck," he's in a state of panic. He runs to me wanting me to help him get it off. Then he's ashamed and thinks he did something wrong -- poor baby. Zeusy is also not obsessed with eating at all, although he is finicky. I think Percy would eat a car if he could fit it in his mouth. He will literally eat anything. We still free feed Zeusy, because he never overeats (about a 1/4 cup a day). He is very lean. I'm afraid poor Percy Poo will be one of those that will be overweight quickly. We will have to portion his food, and unfortunately, that means Zeusy as well. Percy Poo is so stumpy, I'm afraid his belly will drag the ground if he doesn't get taller!!! |

| My smaller one does this too! He's 1. He did it all the time when he was a puppy and now just does it once in a while. He eats his and my other Yorkie's. The vet told me a lot of puppies grow out of it. Mine just does it less often than he did :-/. I may give the fresh pineapple a try. I think there's also some kind of powder or something you can buy at the pet store to sprinkle on their food. |

| No suggestions on how to stop that nasty habit. I did read from several members that s.e.p.( stop eating poop) does work. Percy is just toooo adorable, I LOVE his ears, so smoochable.

| Sorry.......laughing. ALL dogs, cute ones included, "look like" poo eaters to me. It is a gross idiosyncrasy of dogs, and we as humans just keep on loving them (though I do tend to duck from doggie face kisses when Mario has been outside recently.) He thinks cat poo is a delicacy .

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Switching to a better quality food can help a lot. Then also, buy Solid Gold's S.E.P. (Stop Eating Poop) immediately and use that, it works wonderfully.

| Percy is even cuter than he is gross---and that's saying something! Just keep telling yourself, 'This, too, shall pass...' |

| Thank you everyone for the kind words and advice. Here is the weird thing. Percy had been doing great about going potty on his pad in his ex-pen-- always. The only thing he would do is tear the pad off the floor when we locked him in the hoosegow (ex-pen). He hated being locked up in there while Zeusy ran free. Well, after his vet visit Wednesday, we left him out of hoosegow yesterday confined with Zeusy to our den, kitchen, and laundry room. My husband was totally surprised when he went home at lunch to check on them -- Percy had not torn up anything, had any pee/poo accidents and was so much more happy not being confined (I think he hates it as bad as Zeusy). We are trying it again today, but I feel we're at a point of no return! |
