| Time has come... I have decided to go with the buddy belt! I don't like how other harness's fit Daisy coming up so close to her neck. I just took Daisy to the vet and she is 3.5 pounds and 14 weeks old! My question is, do stores sell buddy belts or you can only get them online? I do not want to order the wrong size to have to send it back to wait another week for another size, you know? If so, then I will obviously do that. |

| I am not sure if buddy belts are sold in stores. However, our own Yorkietalk member, Kristin (Maximo) sells the,. I have purchased several from her. She is great with help in the sizing. She knows her stuff! |

I'd say definitely get Maximo's advice on sizing since your furball is so small.

| I know buddy belts are sold in certain stores. I got mine from the bone and biscuit. It was nice to be able to try on different sizes in the store to find the right fit. At 14 weeks old, Daisy may still have some growing to do. So that's something to consider. Also, if you do end up measuring for size, I would kinda dismiss the weight aspect of the sizing chart that buddy belts have. My girl is 3.75 lbs and wears a size 1 and it fits her perfectly. Just remember with sizing, after putting a little bit of tension on the leash, you should be able to fit 1-2 fingers under the harness. And ideally you'd be on one of the middle three notches in the belt. I've seen lots of pictures of dogs wearing an incorrect size of buddy belt. |

| The only store I found that carried BBs was in NYC but since I didnt have the dogs with me, I had no idea of size. The salesgirl tried to tell me, "this size fits yorkies" aah, no, there are so manu different size and shape yorkies, lady. Also they only had a few colors I contacted Kristin and she told me how to measure and I purchased them from her. Perfect fit! And fantastic colors available!

| If you're up for the drive to Vancouver, BC (I believe it's a 3 hour drive from Lakewood, WA - with the exchange rate, it'd be a steal for you )...many local pet store boutiques sell the buddy belt and I've seen all sizes that your pup can try on in store. Your pup just needs an up-to-date rabies certificate to pass the border. Let me know if you'd like pet store recommendations.

| As much as I would love to travel because its probably a beautiful drive lol my husband would not be up for it lol and Daisy has not gotten any shots for rabies yet . The next time she goes to the vet in April, she will be getting that shot. |

As Airplane wrote above, go by chest measurement. The weights are just loose guidelines. Measure chest girth snug and do not add any room. The Buddy Belts are adjustable, but they are not something a dog can grow into. It has to be the right size to be secure. At 14 weeks, your pup is definitely going to grow, so be prepared to move up in size on the harness. You can always sell the outgrown harnesses.

Definitely get the buddy belt though. You'll love it. I love mine. I even find that my dogs actually walk better with it on compared to other harnesses I've had. I guess they must've just never really liked having something around their neck. The design of the buddy belt is so simple but it works so good. There are very few products that have impressed me as much as the buddy belt.
