| Puppy looks different to the rest of litter... Hi everyone, I would like some help if possible. I contacted a yorkie breeder who said she had one puppy left and she was a female silk coat. When I arrived she doesn't look like average yorkie puppies do with the fluffy face. All her siblings and parents were pretty fluffy and she isn't at. Could you guys tell me what kind of coat she Possinly has? And how she will look as an adult please. I have a friend with a yorkie who is now 2, however he's quite fluffy when not groomed. Many thanks in advance http://i1036.photobucket.com/albums/...s5fd04hrp.jpeg |

| How old is the pup? At first glance, I thought she looked more like a chi... This is Magnus when he was about 5-6 weeks old... This is recent pic of him. |

She's just about to be 9 weeks old, a friend thinks she looks like a chi cross yorkie but the breeder maintains she's full breed and I have no reason to doubt that. Just massively curious. When I google short coats I get adult dogs. Isn't he a handsome boy 😍 | |

| I would agree the puppy doesn't look like the average Yorkie puppy. Most reputable breeders would be able to tell you the type of coat the puppy will have and can also tell how the puppy may look like based on the parents. If it's not a reputable breeder, well, guess you can't believe anything they said... Here is a very helpful tips list when looking to buy a yorkie: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/fea...ead-first.html

| I believe she's a fairly small hobby breeder and has done so for a decade or 2. She's around 70 now. She did say that she was a silk coated puppy and was probably the last one to go because she isn't "typical yorkie looking" |

| I am not expert on Yorkie breeders or breeding. In fact, even though I got my pups from a breeder, it was through connections who knew I was looking for a rescue. My pups were almost a year old when I got them, so they typical Yorkie buyers had passed them by. To answer part of your question, I will say that my pups are from the same litter and they do not look a whole lot alike! They have a similar coat type, but their color is different and their body types are different. I met the parents and my little boy looks like a copy of his dad. My little girl looks nothing like anyone in her family, except that she appear to have a similar body type to her mother, who is about two pounds bigger than the father---my pups are about a pound difference in weight. In the case of my pups, I know that there is some parti-Yorkie in there somewhere (maybe from one of the grandparents) so this accounts from my little girl's coloring, which is lighter than that of a typical Yorkie. I was really surprised by how different they are, but I based on my limited experience, I wouldn't be worried if a pup looks different than other family members. I love them both exactly as they are, and the one thing I was able to observe with the parents was the loving and joyful nature that each had. I can see this shining through in my pups, which for me is the most important thing!

| If you are going to buy a yorkie then get one that you feel fits all the characteristics you want. Don't settle for less. The little one doesn't look yorkie to me.
