| Puppy food transition Beowulf will be 11 months in 3 days I have to get him some more food soon. I think I have enough to last me at least 3 weeks. He is eating Orijen puppy food, do you guys think I should order him regular adult food?

| His growth plates are intact and completed growing....I think putting him on adult food would be fine.....I always say to leave them on puppy food until 1 year old, you are going to be right there in another 3 weeks, I think you will be safe to make the switch. Some people do not "break in" changes in food....I like to work them into changes, so I would just start mixing a little of the adult brand into the puppy kibble, then just keep increasing the amount of the adult until you have switched over completely and used up the last of your puppy food. |

| Okay great, Thank you Yorkiemom!! Yes, that's why I'm looking into food now so I can buy some so that I am able to mix both to make a slow transition.

| I just did this...it felt exciting for some reason lol! I did it over 3 weeks. My vet says the smaller the dog, the slower you go but she recommends at least over 2 weeks minimum. |

| It is exciting!! Lol I thought I was weird for being excited about this. Now I'm second guessing the orijen food because I read its too high in protein for dogs and some dogs are getting liver problems, but my wulfie has not had any problems.

| well, here is ella's story. She was on nutrisource and I switched her to blue for toy breed-she loved it and it was tiny kibble.... BUT very high in protein and even though I did over several weeks, still loose stool SO then after researching show breeders for our next pup (coming this spring), I realized all of them that I checked, ALL used Royal Canin for yorkies. I made the switch to Royal canin for yorkies and wow. never a stool issue and she absolutely loves it and it gives her good breath. So there is my two cents, whatever you decide I kind of wished I had asked on YT before the whole process LOL |

| idk I don't like the ingredients, I'm going to stick w/ the orijen maybe try the Acana since it has less protein. Thank you for your help!
