| Thanks for posting! I currently have PetPlan and am considering changing. Just filed claims and am waiting to see how they are handled. This helps!

| Nationwide and Healthy Paws are listed as number one and two. Does anyone have a preference or recommendation? I am not well-versed when it comes to insurance--mine or Piper's! Any suggestions and/or direction will be much-appreciated! |

| I really wanted Nationwide since they had this awesome package where they covered wellness visits as well for like 54/month but I read all the reviews and they were terrible healthypaws has really good reviews so I'm thinking of going with them, just waiting to see the vet to get a clean bill of health.

| Hey! I was leaning toward Healthy Paws, too! Think I'll go with 'feeling' on this one...well, after a little more research and a conversation with my vet. Thanks so much--what's that about 'great minds think alike...?!' |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I like and have Healthy Paws - I especially like how they do their deductibles.

| I have Healthy Paws and like them. I do wish they cover wellness visits but I guess you can't have everything.

| I have healthy paws but I haven't had to use it yet. However they did raise the rates by 3.00 after only about 6 months without any explanation. I haven't gotten around to finding out why yet. |

| All of you who have Healthy Paws, how has the process been? What is your deductible...did you have to pay that before you submit a claim? I have healthy paws and I took my little Bambina to the 24 hr emergency...bill came out to $124 which was not a lot but my deductible is $200 for Healthy Paws and thought it was not worth it...

| My Zeusy is with Healthy Paws. The only problem I had was my own for listening to an idiot vet who told me pet insurance was unnecessary. Zeusy has already been diagnosed with luxating patellas (so that won't be covered) and had Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease in his left hip and had surgery. I do believe the only bilateral disease that Healthy Paws doesn't cover is cruciate ligament tears, so I believe if he had LCP in his right hip (which is doubtful at his age), it would be covered. Wish I had done this last year when I wanted to. Asked a vet because Zeusy is our first pet -- bad idea. From now on, I will go with my gut. We also had to take him to another vet to get the LP and LCP diagnoses. |
