| Eating When Home Alone Does anyone have babies that will eat when they are home alone? None of my past or present Yorkies ate, (eat), when they are alone even though their food and water are in the same room where they are confined. A vet once told me that this is a sign of intelligence because they are keeping the urge to go to the bathroom to a minimum. |

| That's interesting to know. I wouldn't know about Princess, she's always with me.

| Hmmm, My boyfriends Cocker Spaniel will only eat while he is in the kitchen. When he leaves she is done, and when he enters again, she'll eat some more.

| Don't have a clue because Logan finishes his food in under a minute whether I'm standing right there or not. But a lady at work that has a yorkie says hers won't eat while she's gone.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Neither of my girls eat while I am gone...I have always wondered why and that makes great sense!! As soon as I get home they start eating again...

| Lacey's food bowl was kept on the kitchen floor. She would not eat her food unless my mom and dad were home. She would drink her water but that is about it. Sometimes I would have to watch Lacey for a few days for my parents when they would go out of town. I had the hardest time making her eat when it was just the two of us. If she got hungry enough she would eventually eat, but I had the hardest time with her!

| Cooper will not eat if my husband or me are not there. His food and water stay out but he will not eat, however, he drinks.

| Mine dont eat when they´re alone and if we are gone a long time they practically dive into their bowl as soon as we get through the door. I dont know why this is,but they just wont eat. Once I left a greenie on the floor just as we were leaving (Jess LOVES her greenies and we can finally get them here) and I did it to distract her as we left because she gets very anxious when we she knows we are going out..but when I got home 2 hours later, she hadent touched it! (although she grabbed it when we came in the door..??) I wonder why they do this, they even leave treats or food they LOVE when we arent around, maybe its because they get sad? |

| Stewie doesn't eat when I'm not home. I honestly think it's because he knows that I will be there if he starts choking. I don't think it has anything to do w/ going to the bathroom because he's goes wherever he damn well pleases anyway

| I usually will leave their leftover breakfast down when i go to work but they NEVER touch it. Hallie won't eat unless I'm watching her and I think Simon is too busy pouting while I'm away. They sure do scarf down the food when I get home though |

| I have also noticed that often my dogs don't eat much until I get home. **** I know one reason is that they don't like the dog food I leave them. They are waiting for me to come home so they can get "better stuff." Carol Jean |

| Bridget doesn't eat while I'm gone either. I leave food out all day, but she doesn't usually touch it till I get home. |
