| Anybody's Yorkie have a pet? I was wondering if you can get a pet for your Yorkie. Hopefully something they won't kill or eat. Obviously the easy answers is another dog, but I'm thinking something smaller. Any ideas, or am I completely out of my mind? |

| Max and Sasha have a pet - me! They have trained me to open the door to the garage when they scratch it. They have trained me to refill their bowls when they rattle them. They have trained me to scratch their head when they flip my hand with their head. They have trained me to give them a treat when they pee on their pad. The list goes on and on! All kidding aside, I have never heard of a yorkie having a pet other than an inanimate object they become attached to.

| Mario does not, but our German Shephard had a pet cat he adopted all by himself. Of course, I had to feed her and care for her, but he loved on her and shared his bed with her.

| I would agree that I am Uni and Toto's pet. Toto does the hand flipping thing to get me to pet me like maxdog mentioned above. Smokey (one of our previous fosters) did that and I loved it! Thought it was so cute! I don't know if a yorkie could have a pet, like if you purposely got them an animal. I think it would have to just be an animal that you already have and they build a bond and trust together. Of course a pet cannot take care of another animal (well except for a momma and her babies) but you know what I mean. I've seen animals be more like friends but not really owner and pet. Cute concept though! I think mine would try to kill it if it were smaller, esp Toto!

| Mine has "adopted" all of my exotic animals as well as my chickens. She will attempt to groom them and supervises my chickens. God forbid any one of the pets makes a distress noise. She is RIGHT THERE checking on it and licking.

| Don't know if this counts but, when Peanut is playing with Bizzie, my DH says"That's the best toy we ever bought him" They are really the best buddies.

| Duchess use to have a pet kitten. I found a stray kitten and took it home with me. Poor thing couldn't have been more then 2 months old. Anyway Duchess and Itty Bitty bonded very quickly. I found the kitten a home and now I wished I would of kept her. Duchess treated that kitten just like it was her pet Now I am wondering if I should get a kitten to keep permanently. |

| Great answer everybody. Yes, there are days when I wonder who owns who. Shouldn't he be picking up after me? |
