Is there a normal age for going in heat My Yorkie is 15 months and I have never noticed any signs of her going in heat. I don't want to breed her and planned to have her fixed anyway. She has an appointment tomorrow. I just wondered why she hasn't already started the process of going in heat? Any thoughts ?

If she was all neat, you may have not even realized she had her cycle.....her ovaries may not be functioning adequately, which is creating a hormonal imbalance, and she wont come into heat, or it may be a delayed heat, or it may be just an abbreviated heat cycle. If she is not in season as we speak, she is good to go for her spay.

Thank you! I am somewhat new to having dogs. My kids wanted her and I feel like she's one of my kids. I have never been around a dog in heat, however between my kids and I we are very hands on with her daily and it's just hard for me to believe that we wouldn't have noticed something. But she has an appointment in the morning so I'm assuming the vet will know before he starts if Its ok to do procedure. Is there a difference in the behavior or personality traits after the procedure?
