| Can anyone recommend a webcam to watch my pup Have heard several of you say you have webcams so you can watch your pups while away from the house. What a great idea! Can anyone recommend a good and easy one? Thanks!

| I ended up setting my laptop up as a webcam. Good News its Free! The website to download the app on your home computer is Remote video surveillance, Video Monitoring, surveillance app?AtHome Camera Its called AtHome Streamer (You can also use your own camera attached to your computer if you have one.) You can set it up and then download the app for your phone or tablet. It works great for me. You can see real time and record the video. All the other apps I looked at didn't have this option. If you have any questions you can PM me I have been using it since Oct. with no problems. |

| Thank you for the info., aweitzm1! :-) Don't think I want to use my laptop, so will buy a camera. I know absolutely nothing about using a webcam, so will have to google and learn. I want to be able to see them on my iPhone when I am out.

| Best buy sells them, and are reasonably priced and easy to set up and use. I have Net Gear. 2 cameras, I can turn on and off from my Iphone. I monitor a sleeping pup lol.

| Thanks for that info., Joan. Will look into it. I would be so happy to be able to look in on my pup by webcam when I am gone.

| We use the Nest Cam. Hooks into your wifi easily. Good quality pic. Can be set to record at motion or noise activation. You can view it live from a PC or phone. You can also talk between the camera and the phone or PC (although both people cannot talk at the same time).

| I have Drop Cam (2). One in my living room, One in the Florida room. The nice part is easy to set up, just takes a minuite. Has night vision, and you can talk to the pup. I watch Roxy on and off all day. Check it out. |

| When you are streaming on your iphone or ipad and using data just be careful. I didn't realize how much data I was using and in one month spent close to 4 GB. I now only stream using wifi. |

The 1st few times they picked their head up and looked around but soon they realized I was not there so they pretty much don't even react now. I use it to talk to Toni more than the pups.

| I have been googling for awhile , checking out the cameras. It says you have to plug them into your router, but my router is in my office, and I do not want my webcam in my office, so do I set up a second router for the camera? Will they not interfere with each other? Many thanks if someone can explain this to me.

| It is definitely a great thing to have but i remember one time I was almost in tears using it. Max had to go to the vet for teeth cleaning and we dropped him off and left Sasha at home. It was her first time ever being alone and I will never leave her alone again. Normally they both sleep 80% of the day but that day she sat in front of the gate the ENTIRE day crying. Every time she heard a noise she thought it was us and started jumping only to have her heart broken each time. We were both at work 45 minutes away so we couldn't just run home and get her. It tore my heart out to watch her that day, she was so lonely. I have never heard her cry like that before or since. Those sounds still haunt me. It hurt so bad to watch her I wished I did not have the camera that day.
