| I have a concern, again Ladybug is lifting her right leg up. I've been watching her and when she stands still she's lifting her leg up. No limping, she runs with no issues, and no whining like she's in pain. Should I be concerned? |

| Back leg or front leg? How old is Ladybug? My Zeusy was lifting his left rear leg with no limping and would run just fine; however, he had Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease. He was diagnosed at 14 months which is late, but we had to change vets and get a second opinion. If it is the front leg, I have no suggestions. He also has luxating patellas in both back legs but no longer holds either leg up, since he had his hip joint removed for the Legg-Calve-Perthes. I wish you the best of luck! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmm...it's the front leg...? That's odd. I'd be checking btwn the toes and the paw pads etc.

| I agree with Ann, check between her paw pads and toes. Check the length of her nails too. Is she doing this indoors or outdoors? Teddy does it outdoors when he is cold, lifts one front leg.

| Mine do this too! When it's cold... One does this on floor surfaces she doesn't care for! It's like she tries to minimize how much of her is touching the tile at one time! Too cute!

| Yes! The flamingo stance is cute. I giggle when Teddy does it on our deck in the snow or the rain. As if holding one paw up makes all the difference. He does it in the bath sometimes too.

| I checked her paw and her nails. All is OK. Maybe just something she does. |

| Zuesy does the flamingo when he is going "to get" something or someone -- like leaves, cars, the UPS man, and anything else annoying. It's like a stance he does to show he's the man! |

| Is it sort of like a pointer pointing at a bird? Many small breeds (and large too) do this behavior when they are unsure of a situation, or are focused, or cold. Mine does it. It's normal, and I wouldn't worry. |

Mine do this also, when "standing guard", patrolling the house, at doors and windows, confusion or uncertainty, etc. I love the "guard dog stance".....!!!! | |

| I've been writing down when she does this and its mostly when she wants something from me. Like a treat, picked up, or the OK to get on the bed. So cute!!! |

| A standing dog who lifts its front leg is waiting for direction. That posture is a sign of indecision and anticipation. She's thinking about what to do next and looking to you for guidance. My yorkies do this all the time.
