| Hair around eyes...? Hi guys, my puppies are getting groomed tomorrow, and I was just wondering.. how many of you guys actually cut the hair around your puppies' eyes? With my first puppy, when my groomer cut it, I wanted to grow it out... but with my 4 month old puppy, he has way more hair than him, and his hair is covering his eyes... Sometimes I wonder how he can see... lol He never got this hair trimmed yet, so it is pretty long.. I thought if I let it grow, it'd end up laying down flat, but it doesn't seem to be working. Would it be better to just trim that hair.. or should I just let it grow some more? I feel like I might just regret cutting it if I do... It was pain in the butt to get my first puppy's hair growing again.. lol My girl puppy seems fine without her hair around eyes getting trimmed.. it lays flat and doesn't block her eyes at all.. Thanks in advance |

| Leave it! You're so close! They go through the blind phase as I call it when the hair is growing out but it's worth the wait bc in a few more weeks it will all fit in the top knot and there will be no more hair in the eyes. If you cut it you have to keep it short or start the growing process all over. You can prob get a good amount in a small pony tail just it the front... It looks funny for a while like a unicorn... And maybe flatten the rest with a little bit of gel. |

| Don't cut it! When you cut it, you have to constantly keep it trimmed. When it grows out, it pokes them directly in the eye and that causes more tear staining. Once it gets long enough it will lay flat. You can also use doggy hair gel. Mimimomo on here sells it on her site toplinepet.com. You can PM her to ask if you'd like. We used it and it works! If anything, if it's still too short, at least it sticks the hairs together so it's more spiky and not fanned out and they can see better.

| a bit late response.. sorry.. been busy lately with surgeries/taking care of bf and puppies.. but groomer ended up cutting his hair around his eyes, saying his hair was long enough (since he was getting a puppy cut), that it was reaching his chin already on the sides.. and if i wanted it to a point where it'd lay flat, it'd just look like he has beard.. not sure if she was right or not, but i'm glad I can see his eyes now... lol One downside is that his hair is already growing and I have to trim it lol.. Thank you guys for advises btw. |
