| Caleb is all boy and has his hair up, in the winter and a short cut in the summer. In the show ring, don't boys and girls wear top knots? It's a Yorkie thang..not a boy or girl one. Your little man, is lovely.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Maybe someone else can help with this, but a silk coat feels cold/like silk, and cotton or also called wool coat feels warm to the touch. He is a cutie.

| His logic is: He's not going to cut Kaji's hair, or pay for someone else to do it. He just wants Kaji to see so they can play together.

| I would describe the soft coat (cotton coat) like touching a brand new fluffy teddy bear. Super fluffy and plush.

| I think all Yorkies, whether male or female, look great with a topknot. There are barrettes you can buy that are made specifically for boys, you might want to try one of those and see if your hubby would prefer that. If you boy a "boy" barrette, everyone will know it is a boy and don't have to ask. Just add the barrette to the topknot.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I have both my male and female in a top knot....I think they are absolutely adorable and fit their features quite well! It is in other words a "Man bun" for dogs which seems to be quite the trend these days! As long as it's not too tight or pulling out hair and they don't seem to mind once in place.... I'm a fan =) Last edited by chasingbella; 01-24-2016 at 11:02 AM. |

| My Sebby has a topknot with a ponytail that goes around hi ears and almost to the ground. I just tell people that he is secure enough that his masculinity is not threatened. It also helps that he has a really cool denim bow with a little Harley on it. |

| I have 2 boys and they would have had top knots if they didn't chew them off of each other the first 3 groomings I tried it. After that I gave up and they get short hair now. I love the top knots though, wish I could have done it!

| I think it's adorable! However, my Zeusy will have none of it. Rubber bands and gels -- he will rub his head against the couch until he gets them out. Bows and barrettes -- he will take both of his front paws and literally "dig" them out of his hair. So, it's definitely either trim the hair or let his hood be a little longer; but I digress. Right now, his hood is longer. When we think he can't see anymore, we'll trim the eyes. As far as the bows making them look like girls, I don't think it matters. Everyone thinks Zeusy is a girl -- everyone: "Oh, she's so pretty." (Me) "Thank you, yes he is." "He's too pretty to be a boy." (Me) "I know." Losing battle that I will never win. My teenage son is the same way though. All his young life people would say he was too pretty to be a boy with his long eyelashes and red curls. He is now wearing his hair longer than mine -- go figure! |

| Scottie has kept his baby hair and I've never cut the hair on his head! So you can imagine how long his pony tail is now at 1yr 6 months! He gets asked ALL the time if he's a girl, especially with the long fancy pony tail. I just say he's a pretty boy, a male model so to speak |

| hehe..you've seen his pictures I think scottietheyorkie is friends with king_titan_the_yorkie! But here's a lovely example of his pretty boy ponytail https://www.instagram.com/p/BAdjK5DN...ottietheyorkie You can't really see the end of the pony tail in this picture because it's so long, but you can see from the front of his head I've tied it with a few bands so that it extends down the back of his neck... Here's a picture when he was a bit younger (not the prettiest picture), but his pony tail was flying in the wind and you can see the baby black tips that I never cut off! https://www.instagram.com/p/-zZvYat1...ottietheyorkie Last edited by canana; 01-28-2016 at 12:59 PM. |
