| Introduction to the stairs Hi, we are new to this forum and are so happy we found you ! We have 2 yorkie boys Chance & Theodore no human children yet so these boys are our babies. We got Chance first he is 1 yr 6 mos, Theo came next he is 7 mos old. Our home is a two story and we cannot get Chance to go down the stairs for anything, not with treats, toys, the leash nothing ! While Theo who is much smaller and the newest member of our family flies up and down them everyday to where he scares me because of his speed Does anyone else go through this with their puppy? Is it normal? Any Suggestions will be appreciated |

| Lol how cute! Beowulf was scared of the steps too. We just worked on it with him like 3..4 times a week. We just helped him put his front paws down then his back paws. Then one day I came home from work and he just booked it down the steps!! I felt so loved that he did that for me!! My bf couldn't believe it!

YT 500 Club Member | My last Yorkie RIP, never went up or down. It was so sad, he would sit @ the bottom till someone carried him up & down. Now my present little boy, which is a year old today, won't stay off the stairs. Oh yes, he goes up & down like lightning. Does scare the life out of me.

chance will fly up the stairs after I give him the signal to come up so he knows we are coming up for good, if not we tell him to stay and he will wait because he knows we will be back He will not go down! We have to carry him down as he clings to us for dear life! Sometimes when we are in a busy, Rush he gets left upstairs and he will stand there with his little head cocked awaiting our return We call and call him in hopes of him coming down but no such luck Your baby sounds like ours, they are just too quick !

Ours will go up but not down, when he is downstairs he has learned to wait for my que to come back up and he knows we are staying upstairs or if we tell him to stay, he patiently waits knowing we will be returning Sometimes when we are in a rush he gets stuck upstairs for a stint poor baby Your baby sounds like our little one now he scares us!
