| Hi I'm new to owning a Yorkie. I always wanted one, but my husband was not so keen. I then got a male Yorkie pup for Christmas and I am loving him, except the fact that he is peeing all over the place even after he has just gone out and pee'd. I am guessing that is a male thing. His name is Chaos. I am going to be getting a female Yorkie pup in a few weeks too. I can't wait for her to come home. Her name will be Kora. I look forward to hearing the do's and don't about Yorkies. |

| Welcome!! I love that name Chaos! You should post some pics You have to keep them limited to one area of the house and not let them roam until they are trained. You should also get one of those enzymatic sprays to clean the accident areas so that he doesn't smell his scent and keep peeing there. Hope this helps! Happy training!

Thanks, I think the name is perfect for him. lol. Wanted something unusual. Dynamite seemed to common and overly used, so went through all the disruptive words and settled on Chaos. Thanks for the advice really appreciate it. Going to block the area he is in the most tomorrow. He hates being confined and likes being around me. As long as he sees me. He is happy, but I guess I am going to have to be strong. I have attached a few pics of Chaos. | |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk and congratulations on the new addition to your life. I agree with the advice above: limit freedom to roam while potty training. Praise and reward when he goes in the right place. Clean up the accident spots with the enzyme cleaner.

| How old is Chaos? If he is still a puppy of 6-8 months, you may still be able to get him neutered and that will hopefully stop the marking/hiking of his leg to pee.....do this especially before you introduce a female into the mix! He will mark "his property"....all over your home, yard, etc!!! Congratulations on your new puppy! Chaos is a PERFECT name!!! |

| Thank you for the warm welcome. I am still getting the feel of the board and how things work. Choas is 11 weeks old. Thanks for the advice on restricting him. I am already setting up an area for him. Though he usually never leaves my side. He usually goes where I go in the house. He loves to be cuddled. I am not sure why my profile pic is not showing. I will play around and try and get it to work. Thanks again for all your advice. |
