| A Big Decision I have posted 336 messages on YT even I don't have a yorkie yet. To be honest, I sometimes have felt left out since most of you have yorkies (which is the main topic of this site) and I don't. Most of my posts are about how much I want a yorkie and it might have sounded really boring to others. This started when I watched my friend's yorkie, Guinness for 10 days. I fell in love with the breed. I sounded like a little kid asking her parent for a puppy. Then my boyfriend met Guinness and spent time together. He realized how happy I could be with a dog and he also fell in love. It was really disappointing to hear "no" from my landlord when we asked for permission to have a dog. Then we didn't want to give up. We started thinking about how we could work with landlord to change her pet policy. Meantime I started contacting different breeders and even visited Stacy who is 7 hours away. I was very sad that I left without a pup. I also felt bad to Stacy that I wasn't ready. I don't know if she found home for him, but I felt really bad and sad. It has been tough. Then a couple days ago we just saw my landlord's son and also asked him. If he said ok, we were even thinking about driving to PA if the pup was still available. It turned out that he was the one who wants to be strict about no pet policy. Many people have told me to just get a pup and ask for forgiveness but I am glad in the sense that I didn't get a pup. I could have made my rental history bad. So it has been depressing to me. This was my first apartment after getting independent and out from college. I have been living here for long time and it was affordable. I have a great roommate here. In Boston, apartment rate is crazy that I cannot definitely afford my own place. I work for non-profit.... Then I wasn't sure if my roommate would move with me. Her company was bought, so there might be some lay-off. Since I don't have family here, it is hard to deal with move. My boyfriend is traveling for work. I was thinking if a yorkie was worth enough to change a big part of my life, a place to live. I have struggled to make a decision. I have been extremely sad for while. I have been waiting for the day to have a yorkie and it has been really rough. My boyfriend and I talked for long and many times, and I also talked to my roommate about my thoughts and plan. My boyfriend is going to help me to move. He is even thinking about buying a 2 family house so that we can rent out some rooms and he can pay for morgage. Then i can also rent a place and have a dog. We even went to see a few open house already. My roommate might come move with me if things don't go bad with her job. Buying a house is such a big committment and decision. We are not even citizen here. Condo is also expensive so that multi house might make more sense. I was very surprised with his idea. I don't know if it even happens, but what we know for sure is that we are going to move. Buy or Rent, who knows.. but we are MOVING! It would be easy to stay here, but we think that having a yorkie will make our life much brighter. I have a lease until end of August, but if we all of us move, we most likely can move out. I have lived here for many years... so it shouldn't be a problem. I just cannot believe.. we are gonna move. But for yorkies, that is what it takes... so we are gonna do it! We are definitely committed. I am just so grateful to have a super supportive boyfriend. I hope my dream really comes true and posts here as a yorkie owner, not wanna be yorkie owner. Meantime, I am gonna look for a place and post on YT as a wannabe yorkie owner but try not to bore you. This post might be boring.. but I just had to say it so I can come back here and one day I can tell you when I accomplished what I said here.

| Sounds like you have a lot of decisions on your plate. I do hope that once you get settled in and are feeling secure in your decision that just the right Yorkie pup will find its way into your heart. You seem so eager. Sounds like it will still take some time because there are so many major changes that are to happen first. I wish you the best and much happiness! I already had a Yorkie of my own when I babysat for a Yorkie that belonged to my husband's boss for a week. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HER! I was so hurt when they took her back and had to hold back tears. I felt ridiculous but just couldn't help it |

| Michiko, Bless your loving heart. Don't you spend one sec worrying about me at all...I am never in a hurry to place pups, I like having the little buggers around and I was delighted to meet you for ANY reason. I can't imagine that anyone could think your posts are boring. I consider you part of the yorkie family, with or without a pup of your own. It's our love of this breed that brings us all together here and you certainly have plenty of that. Vivek seems to be a terrific guy and I'm sure you will work everything out for a bright and happy future. I can think of no one who is more deserving of a wonderful yorkie than you. You have my Best wishes for all good things. and Megan, what are you doing up at this hour? : ) you wicked, wicked girl...lol! hugs...I'm off to bed.

You are not alone! I'm working day and night to raise money for a downpayment on my own place...so I can have a Yorkie! I even carry a picture of a Yorkshire Terrier pup in my writing pad at work...when people see it...they say..Oh! She's adorable...is that your puppy?" And I'm like...umm...well..no....and start babbling on how I downloaded it...and I want one...blah..blah...blah...and then I stop talking because I'm getting "The Look" (the "Oh..what a sad person...she probably props stuffed animals up at the dinnner table...and talks to them) Hang in there...we're gonna have our Pup! | I know EXACTLY how you feel. My boyfriend and I moved out together, got ourselfs this really nice apartment in a gated community, but they didn't allow dogs. My boyfriend would work anywhere from 12-15 hour days and I hate being by myself. For as long as I could remember I have always wanted a dog. I started out looking for teacup poodles. I almost bought one from a petstore. Then I found my lucky add in the paper. I got the money within a week and against the rules of our place, I bought her. The maintance people walked in un-announced one day and saw her dishes and toys. They left a notice saying we must get rid of her immediatly. Long story short, we broke our lease. She is much more important to me then some stupid apartment complex! On those who don't allow dogs |

| We had a pup sent to us in Grand Cayman, but he did not clear Agriculture Dept. due to their strictest policies. It was flown the next morning back to The States. We had to wait for half a year to move back to US to get a yorkie. Imagine seeing the little one and then not getting it. It sucked. And now imagine the wait and constant talks about it. We went through a similar experience and appreciate our new addition so much more. Please hang in there and things will eventually fall into place. You will have a great companion! |
