The wife tried holding Charlie ONE TIME and found out when he goes into his "nut" mode - you just can't hold him - he never leaves his travel case or car seat. EVERYONE - Enjoy your little buddles of joy!

| OK - new problem with Charles! He now watches TV (with us) and if he hears a doorbell, dog bark, etc. - he starts barking at the TV. As a matter of fact, he was returning from a drink of water, dog on TV started barking - Charlies runs to the back door, looks outside and starts barking. WILL IT EVER END!

| If it's a simply doorbell or just a knock (on tv), I quickly tell Piper that, It's just the tv; it's on tv.and she'll settle quickly...However, if I'm not quick with the mute and there are several knocks in quick succession, she goes so nuts barking and whipping back and forth from door to me, I can't make myself heard! Actually, I think she just waits for the television to give her the opportunity to be a big bad barking guard dog for a few minutes! Did I hear someone knock? |

| Well - hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to let everyone know that Charlie still goes crazy (barking, screaming, etc.) when we are in the car. Yes, Charlie still "begs" to go with us when we hit the garage door and still runs out to the car and sits next to "his" car door. The wife insisted on trying the "water spray" approach again. She sat in the back seat and when I put the car in gear and Charlie started yelling - she said STOP and sprayed him. Well, to make a long story short - when the wife finally gave up - Charlie looked like he just came out of the tub! Thank goodness I thought about bringing a towel with us. Our vet gave us some "medication" to try but I just don't feel comfortable "drugging" Charlie so it still sits in the refrig. We are getting ready for that long trip to Florida - this should be an exciting trip! Hope everyone is doing well.

| That little Charlie knows how to keep life interesting, that's for sure. Maybe you should install a tv in your vehicle for Charlie and when you start cruising, play a video of him goin' nuts in the car....God speed and let us know all about your road trip. Big ol' smooches for Charlie!! |

| Buddybear has been given almost every "natural" calming thing I can afford....or can find..... which has Not worked. Our vet said any pill he will just push through and revvvv up his body. The only thing I have had Mild success with is Jerky, people kind, {I now, I know} But his Full attention is on that sliver of jerky that is making its way off the other piece and towards his mouth. I can't feed him that for the 1 1/2 hour trip to Phoenix, but If I found a drug that worked, I would not hesitate to use it..............drug, vs, accident because he distracted the driver, , , , no question. Safe travels and enjoy your destination [I won't say 'trip'}. lol I tried the water spray,,,,,,,,,,he just laughed at me.

| Figured it was time for an update. Hope everyone has been having a super year. We ran down to Cape Canaveral for the month of April (just returned). Had to return for different appointments. Yes - the wife and I are falling apart! Charlie barked, screamed and cried the entire way (down and return). The only time he stopped was to rest his "barker" and catch a few z's! Yes, the vet did give us some "stuff" to help him relax but didn't feel right druggin' him. Well - for the record - I am totally over that! He will get "drug'd" the next trip. Even though he goes nuts - he still runs for the door and stands next to the car to go! Whenever we place his carrying case on the floor - he still jumps into it. Just can't figure him out - he wants to go but goes nuts the moment we move the car. Anyway - hope everyone is doing just fine. Yes - always open to suggestions on stopping his barking - have tried at least a dozen so far - keep the suggestions rolling in - one day - one will work!

| Is Charlie, that little love, able to look out window from his carrier? Have you ever tried to leave him out of carrier, but safely harnessed? Have you ever thought of putting wonderful little Charlie in a tiny little trailer to tow behind your car? It is, indeed, a mystery as to why that boy does what he does...But, he is, after all, CHARLIE!!! Update w/Piper...after two plus years, she has agreed to 'sit' not-quite-on-command and has now mastered 'sitting up' Well, masteredmight be stretching it as she wobbles a bit, but corrects that by stretching out her front legs. While you digest this oh-so-interesting news, I'll continue to ponder your 'screamin Charlie' Glad to hear all is well and it's always, always just wonderful hearing from you!! Not the best shot of sit-up, but you get the idea... |
