| Puppy Cut vs. Long Hair........ha ha I WON!!!! Ha ha........so after alot of back and forth with my wife.....I WON THE BATTLE of the Puppy Cut lol......like i said in previous post....my wife was wanting our little guy to have the "Show Dog" look....and I was all for it....until he started looking Dirty and Unkept......his hair was growing at a extremely fast rate and it was just to much to maintain.....but my wife being my wife wouldn't Budge on the idea of Cutting his Hair.....even after countless tries of me showing beautiful puppy cuts she still didnt want to do it....and did i Mention he was starting to smell like Pee....i just wasn't having it anymore......i took him to the Groomers and i told them my dilemma and showed them pics of cuts that i liked....they were extremely nice and promised me they would take care of him.....after about 3 hours i got the call he was done.....i went to pick him up and i fell in love wit him all over again lol......he was EXACTLY like i had hoped he would look......now it was time to tell my wife what i had done.....lol i didnt care if she was gonna be mad.....i rather him look and smell awesome.....well needless to say she was upset with me....but after a few hours of seeing him in the cut she started to come around and now she likes it.....i told her we could try the show dog look eventually but ONLY if professional groomers are keeping him up....i posted a pic of his New Cut in my Photo Album on my Profile for All to see........for some reason it won't let me post it on this Thread |

| I prefer puppy cuts to they are so much easier to keep maintained and look more kept during normal times

| He looks adorable!! I'm glad you found a great groomer to do beautiful work. That isn't easy with Yorkies. Glad your wife also ended up liking the puppy cut.

| Hang onto your groomer don't forget to give her a little something extra in the way of a Christmas bonus because that is one totally adorable and unique cut. Consider me a loving subject of your little 'king'! |

| He is precious! What a handsome face. It is definitely easier, and more practical, to keep a long coated breed like ours in a shorter cut. The banding and upkeep for a show coat can be tough for the dog too- it does take many hours to maintain. A long pet cut or short cut are good options that can keep them more comfortable. If my chorkie ever grew super long hair (it's coming along) I'd keep her in a mid length clip. Her coat now is a couple inches long and she is very pretty. Something similar to what she is in now would be awesome. I keep her beard close and tight and enjoy her lovely hair. |

| He looks great. I go back and forth also with wanting Barney to have a long flowing coat. I agree with you though. The upkeep is just way too hard. Barney is much happier when I'm not constantly chasing him around trying to brush him.

| That's a great cut and he is just beautiful. I like the puppy cut short face as that muzzle can get really stinky too! |

| he looks wonderful and that is the perfect cut, not to long, not to short, often groomers cut them way to short. I like what I call a teddy bear or westie type face, which is what you got, to me that cut makes the yorkie look young and playful. I have so many friends in my yorkie groups that keep their dogs hair way to long and to me even though I know they have been bathed and combed they still look shaggy and messy. Your little guy is soooooo cute, love his little face, LOL likes like he might have a bit of the devil in him.

| Congratulations.... he is adorable. Be sure to take a photo of him every time he goes to a groomer, because the word puppy cut means different things to different groomers, and he may not turn out like that. I do all 3 of my doggies in that cut, often called the "modified Schnauzer" cut. So cute and easy to maintain. Our member Nancy1999 started doing this cut on her pup, and we have called it "the Joey" and many copied it for years. See it here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...ut-shaved.html and http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ut-please.html
