| Hair Lost I have a 3 year old Yorkie and a few months ago, she had the fleas pretty bad, I gave her a bath with the medicated shampoo. It seemed to get rid of the fleas. A few weeks later, I noticed her back legs were completely bald. I have also noticed she is chewing a lot on her back legs, and seems to be scratching a lot. Otherwise she is good health, eats, plays, no problem using the bathroom, has some restless nights due to the itching. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tammy |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. One of my boys is allergic to flea saliva and reacts strongly to a single flea, so we understand your girl's pain. I recommend taking your girl to the vet for a visit. Flea bites and lots of scratching and itching can lead to skin infections/hair loss. Plus, your poor baby needs relief. You can also discuss a flea preventative with the vet. Be careful with over-the-counter anti-flea shampoos. They can aggravate infected skin and cause other problems. You can use regular dog shampoo. Just apply liberally and let sit for a minute or two before rinsing thoroughly. Wash all bedding frequently and vacuum like crazy for weeks. If she had several or lots of fleas, they likely created lots of eggs that are going to keep hatching. Best wishes for your baby.

| Hi Tammy, good plan. Keep us updated. My brother's family lives in Des Plaines and we lived in Park Ridge for many years. I miss being there.
