| Oh dear, she may need some social training. I started early on my girl, took her out and encouraged folks who want to pet her to do so (got her used to meeting new folks) and the worst I've ever had from that was her getting the excited wee-wee ^^; But she loves when she gets a semi-familiar to familiar visitor,... though she also tends to demand attention when she isn't getting any too >_>;; I guess the most I'd truly worry about is her wanting to go greet someone or some dog that isn't as friendly X_x; Though thanks to our older jack russell, she's become a guard dog... for only at hearing strange sounds But yea, some training or conditioning would help that. I recommend checking out Victoria Stilwell, she has some great positive tips for helping your pooch or perhaps folks here may give more input ^^ I remember seeing that she had an episode for just a similar occasion and had an interesting training tip for it.

YT 500 Club Member | Mine are like that too. all 3 them get so excited when anyone shows up that it's a given that the first two minutes of the visit are spent petting and loving on the girls and getting attacked when lightening fast tongues and complimenting Toby on his ball that he doesn't actually want you to touch. And Toby will even jump up and body slam the glass door when someone he really loves is approaching. He hasn't broken one yet but god it's dramatic and loud and scary. He's so stubborn I haven't found a way to curb that behavior yet. But two minutes of excitement and then they calm right down and settle. My friends have grown accustomed to it obviously, cause they still come around. but I feel your pain...threefold.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would try obedience training first and foremost. Then I would also suggest looking into the Pet Corrector on Amazon.

| My dogs are the exact same way. When they hear the buzzer go off they get so excited they start shaking. I need to put them in the kitchen gated until the guest enters. You can hear my dogs down the hall and everyone know which is my apt door. |

| I would try obedience training. The one thing I work on really hard when I first get a pup is the barking when someone comes thing. I don't mind them barking at the door, but once that door is open, they have to learn to be quiet. I can't talk to someone if I have dogs barking. I've trained mine to be quiet once that door is open. Actually, I've had people comment on how well behaved they are when someone comes in. Now... after the initial entrance, they do demand a pet by jumping up on the visitor's legs. After they get their pet, though, they know to go on about their business.

YT 500 Club Member | I wasted $800 on Toby last year for training. It slightly worked but he just kind of shook it off even though I was consistant and did everything I was supposed to. But then I found out that she kept them in a kennel most time and the only food they got was what they earned in the three hours they were out of the kennel training. Well, I refuse to kennel Toby all the time, or starve him so he'll work for food. So he won. and he gets his 2 min of spazzing out. The only thing I've found that really works is a training collar that uses vibration NOT SHOCK. That works if I keep it charged and don't lose the remote.
