| Question about barking.... at what age did your yorkie start barking? My little guy is a little over 4 months and I have only heard him bark twice. Both times happened when he was playing with our other dog. One bark only each occassion. Thanks Lisa |

| Missy is the same way. She'll only bark at Muffy when they are playing. We still haven't been able to get her to bark when she wants to go out. Good luck!

| Sassy is 5 months today and has never barked. My maltese, Skittles, barks enough for both of them. |

I agree!!!!! I don't remember when she started barking, I wish I had kept a journal but she certainly can bark now. Don't let her see a squirrel | |

| MIne is 5 month's old and barks only occasionally. There is one green plant in the house - when the house is darker, he thinks this is some sort of a monster. And - he has barked a few times in the middle of the night when he has head something outside. But other than barking only a few times, he doesn't bark yet. My other dog rarely barks - I am sure this has set a good example for my pup.....so far!!!! Carol Jean |

| Rowdy started around 4-5 months and then only occasionally. He did have a spell of barking at us when we were not cooperating. We corrected that, he stopped and now really pretty much only barks at the lab next door - but that is A LOT, unfortunately. The lab barks at everything and Rowdy rears up on the fence and barks at him. I'm working on getting Rowdy to stop or tone it down. He knows I don't like it and when I am in the room, he does not run out (the doggy door) and bark. But when he doesn't see me, he will do it. All I have to do is go to the door and he stops and comes in. Anyway, I really would't call him a "barker" - he's pretty quiet at all other times.

| 16 weeks and Pixie can wake the dead with her bark! I was so worried that the neighbors would flip out! She has an ear peircing bark! And she is not one bit afraid to use it! Mostly she barks to get her way, which she is fast learning... does not work! It kills me to not respond... But she has learned in the few short days that barking will get her NOTHING! infact... She knows now that I will leave the room and abandon her when she starts up. She picked up quite quickly on that! I have instructed the husband and daughter to continue what they were doing when she barks and to pay her no attention. She really is cutting down! Its working nicely! Good luck! as for us.. I hope to have this barking thing under control soon! Looks like we are off to a good start!

| I think you are lucky. Gucci didnt bark much at the beginning. But around 6 or 7 months she started barking at every noise in the hallway(we live in an apt building). I have control her barking a bit.We still have to work on it,but she is doing better now. |

| Precious didn't REALLY start barking until 5months. Now at 6 months it's funny cause she'll snarl like a big doberman would if she thinks anything or anyone is threatned (like if someone unknown tries coming into the house, that happened a few weeks ago, kinda scary!!) |

| I have had Sadie since last April, and she is 3 1/2 years young. I have heard her bark only about 20 times, and they are always a single, short bark. I wish she would just go to town so I could finally hear her voice. LOL Honestly, I wish she would bark more, as it is hard to tell when she needs to go outside to potty. I usually take her out every two hours, unless she is sleeping. I got lucky. She is a joy to have around. Kate

| Cowboy found his voice box around 4 months of age. It was the cutest little barely audible sound....now.... his bark is so freaking loud it seems to vibrate my ear drums!!! Thank goodness it isn't all the time! Mercedes is 8 1/2 months old and rarely barks. Mavrick only barks to sass at me once in awhile. Tiah isn't much of barker either, more of a "talker". With any luck, you'll end up with one that just isn't a barker. |
