| Proud Mama I took Boomer and Thumper to the playground today for their evening walk and they did wonderful. Usually Boomer will bark and nip at people (especially men) but he didn't bark once. They even allowed the kids at the playground to pet them. I found that the playground has a dog run and plan on using it when I feel more comfortable with the boys and their training. They may have some issues with being alone and farting (see other posts) but I love them dearly and would do anything for them. Its the small things that make me smile and as I sit here typing this one of the dogs just let another one rip. Yuck! Time to try some plain yogurt and not so much peanut butter |

| The GI issues with excessive gas is bothersome! Is the food they are on causing the gas or are they gulping air when they eat, causing excessive gas? I would try to correct this issue....I would start by changing bowls that food is served in, if you think the gas is caused by rapid gulping of their meals....you can put golf balls in their bowl that will slow down them gulping food if that is their issue.....hopefully, others that have this issue will chime in and offer suggestions....this is something I have never had to deal with! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | On the gas (lol)...if it's really quite bad, then I would really switch foods bc having gas all the time can be quite miserable. There is likely something in the food you're feeding that's irritating the GI system. Whatcha feeding right now?

| Just an update. This morning they did not eat and Boomer had very loose stool. I have not given them any treats today. We went on a 7 mile walk and played in the Park because it is a glorious day out. I stopped at Petco and asked the trainer about their diet and seperation anxiety. She gave me some great suggestions similar to all of you who have posted on my other post. She concurred to change the food and suggested the Lamb and Brown Rice since the fish is said to be smelly. There have been no farts today. I bought yogurt to also give them. I signed them up for a 12 week training course at Petco. It is to help me learn how to correct their behavior and work with them on their issues. The trainer was very nice and the dogs went right to her. They were so exhausted after their walk they went right to their crate I covered it and they have been in there with only a little barking. I hope tonight is the same. I need some sleep. They woke me up at 1 am last night. Tomorrow I am back at work full time and pray everything goes ok. I think I have just as much anxiety leaving them crated all day as they do. I so wanted them to have more of a confined open space to roam. Hopefully after the training course I we can learn and give them more room to roam. |
