| Does my dog just hate estate sales? Most mornings DH and I go scrounge around Goodwill or if it is a really good day a couple of estate sales. We have to wake up poor Dinky and bring him down stairs because he will either go with us or go into his crate. So when he realizes we are getting ready to leave, he scampers into his crate, and goes to the rear. DH is distressed by this. He thinks it is sad to leave him home. I keep telling him that Dinky just wants to go back to a comfy sleep instead of being carried around an estate sale or thrift shop. We are usually gone for an hour, but occasionally 3 hours or so. Heck, half the time, I want to go back to bed myself! I think if I can tell DH that posters on YT think that Dinky is not sad, but just tired, he will stop feeling bad when we leave the dog. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Unless he has separation anxiety (doesn't sound like it), I don't think he'd be sad if you left him a bit, he'd just sleep....like you're thinking .

| If he's fine with being home alone, I'd let him know that you're leaving and then leave him to the zzzzz's. Maybe just watch the time you're gone for the first few outings. You'll probably return to a well-rested, happy little guy who won't let you take a nap! Happy sal-ing! |
