| Some folks use bitter apple sprays, or some feed pineapples to make the poop seem less tasty. Thankfully in my case, I never dealt with that, though I have dealt with soiled/chewed toilet paper- play when trying to clean the mess up ;-; They say it's a deficiency or that the poop still smelled strong of food (aka poop was produced fairly soon after the pup eats). Aside from sprays etc., only thing I can think of is try to take the pup out more frequently to use the bathroom, which can be 3-4 times a day. Or distract the pup from the poop :P There's actually lots of info on this subject and I'm sure there are others that can give you more insight.

| My little one Brandi (RIP) used to eat her poop, the cat's poop and the cat's hairball vomit....oh and did I mention she also use to eat her own vomit? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would buy Solid Gold's SEP (Stop Eating Poop) right away and use that.

| I had a similar issue with Teddy's sister Lola, she used to eat her poop every chance she got. I was told it had to do with the fact the poop was pretty much tasting the same way the food did. I switched her food to a higher quality kibble and the poop eating stopped immediately. |

| My little Girl did the same thing! Especially as a puppy, We tried pineapple and it helped but She still tried it. I even asked My vet, and they said it was a phase. I just made Sure if She did have an accident in the house I got it up Immediately. Apparently this is a common issue. I will tell you this, Mitsi has a habit and still does where she will bring you a treat and let you hold it while she noms on it. Well lets just say if your little one gets this habit and your in the dark watching tv, make sure you see what "gift" you are being handed haha. I was passed a very smelly gift one night that was certainly not a treat. |

| Hi. I'm Winnie. I like to eat poop. My Daddy tried everything...I still will eat it. But now that I'm older I don't eat it so much unless nobody is home and I need a snack. Yes maybe I will grow out of it...?.But maybe not..? My Sister doesn't eat poop. But brother Moki does sometimes...My daddy cleans it up to fast that most of the time I don't have a chance to even taste it...Yucky I know. I like to give lots and lots of kisses also. But Daddy brushes my teeth everyday. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | If it makes you feel better (and please, read this with an extremely sarcastic tone) Sophie, now 6 y/o stopped eating her own poop when she was 2 or 3 months old ...now she eats cat poop ! We have to walk the back yard before we let them out to clean up after the neighbors cats

| Zeus never ate poop. For awhile, we thought he was playing with it; however, we figured out that he was "bringing it" to us. He comes and "tells" us when he's pooped on the pad. If we don't notice or get up immediately, he would go get it and bring it to us to get his rightful treat. Lovely, right? |

| Well I'm happy to say that I think he has stopped eating his poop. I changed his food to the next formula of royal canin which is for yorkies. I also give him a poop eating deterant. And I started spraying him with a water bottle every time he tried to eat it. I don't know which of the 3 did the trick or if it is a combination of all....but so far so good. Now he will just turn around and look at it 👀💩 lol |
