| New Member Saying Hello Hi, I just now joined also. I have a 2 year old Morkie, (hope ok to post on a yorkie forum). Bella is a rescue girl. My understanding was that she was not abused or starved but kind of left in her crate a whole lot, with no one to play or interact with her. She had a long, tangled, matted coat but otherwise in good health. The groomer did a good job cutting her close. Anyway I hope to learn lots of good info from you all here on how to be a good mom to Bella Boo Boo. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Welcome to Yorkie Talk! I hope she will come around for you and learn to interact and play with you. Be patient and give her time. I took in an older Yorkie and it took him months to fully settle into life with me. He adjusted very well and was happy here right away, but he still kept coming out of his shell for 2-3 months. Good luck and enjoy her.

| Welcome to YT and thank you for rescuing this little girl. If she was crated most of her life and had little contact with humans, it will take time for her to adjust to freedom of create and human contact. Patience is the key word with rescues, she has to get use to her new life, new smells, new schedule but mostly PEOPLE, touching, cuddling by humans, all new to her. Let her come to you on her terms, if she does not want to be held don't force her. Talk to her in soft tones, offer treats, or boil her boneless chicken cutlets as treats, all dogs LOVE this. She has to build trust in you and all humans, car rides, nice walks, all build trust and bond. She WILL come around but it will take time. I have a rescue boy after having 4 females all gotten as 8 week old babies. Rescuing is so rewarding. Please keep us up dated on her progress in her new life with you.
