| Couch Dog? My little Winnie is almost a year old and we have had her since 8 weeks. She's a great dog but for the last few months all she does is lay under the couch. She will come out if she hears us in the kitchen and if she hears me going outside and sometimes if we call her. Other than that she just chills under the couch all day making occasional appearances to play. Is she sad? Shes eating and drinking fine. |

| Maybe it's time for a vet check. A one year old is still a hyper, zooming baby not a couch potato. Do you walk her daily or several times a day that she would be so pooped out all she wants to do is rest? if not I would make an appointment to see the vet.

| I agree with Matese/Joan. Sounds like vet check is in order. One year of age is a good time for one anyway along with the vaccination booster shots.

| After Teddy got neutered he's been napping more often and laying on the cool floor in the hot summer but he's also been zooming around once the night cools down but yea I'd say vet time a complete behavior change like that doesn't sound normal

| It doesn't sound like normal Yorkie behavior. At least not at such a young age. After a vet check I would try taking your pal out for regular walks and maybe play some fetch. Dogs do get bored and need exercise. Generally Yorkies are following their people around most of the time looking for some interaction. Maybe try to think of ways to include your dog in your daily routine. |
