| Zeus I wanted a big name for our little baby, i.e. Maxmillian, Sebastian, Maximus; however, my 13 year old Percy Jackson fan decided different. He said how about Zeus -- that's a short name that means something big. Zeus he was. We would like a Poseidon, Hades, and Kronos, but my son is an only child and things Zeusy should be an only furbaby. We're working on him. My husband jokes and says his name is Zeus "Toot Toot" and then our last name, because I call him Toot Toot as much as I call him Zeusy. |

| Lu I love the idea of a big name on a small dog. I was going to go with Baron first but everyone I mentioned it to was thinking more along the lines of barren so that name want off the list! My sister then mentioned Lieutenant and I loved it! So Lu's name came from a shortening of Lieutenant Strong name for my cheeky girl! |

| Lilahs official paperwork name is 'skylars charming rainbow', it was very important and strongly encouraged by her breeder. Her parents names are skylar and rainbow and her puppy name was charm. I had a strong interest in showing (and I still do) but I didn't have the skill or understanding to groom a puppy for that life from the first moment when i got my sweet baby lilah, so she is all sweet cuddly pet and will make a great older sibling for s show dog one day I have learned so much being her mama! my human children are named Lacoda, Lillian, Oliver, Orion and Orren. Needless to say we clearly have a theme going here! Since I was bringing my baby girl home an L named just seemed necessary. Lilah was the one, the it, and I have never questioned it or looked back. I am happy with her name, Lilah Charm. Love that girl

| Ok so I'm getting my fur baby next week! He will be 14 weeks old, yay puppy kisses! I'm not defiant on a name as I don't really know his personality as of yet, but so far my favorite is Sir. Braxton Vortex 2nd What do you think? Braxton = defender, Vortex = weather related name in honor of his late mother Stormy. |

| We adopted Mario from a shelter that had him for about 3 weeks. They did not know his history. They had been calling him Mario the whole time. We decided the little guy had enough big changes to deal with so we kept his name the same. He seems to love it and now that I see him zoom around the house/yard, he reminds of Mario Andrete, so it seems to fit.

YT 1000 Club Member | I love all the responses this post has gotten! Here is a story about my husband's English Setter. Although not a Yorkie, still about how his name came about. I had an English Setter who came to me with the name Gabby, I hated the name. My husband suggest Abby, from NCIS, so Abby it was and she never noticed the difference. A year later we felt another Enlgish Setter would be a good addition to our family and found a 15 month old that needed a home. He had gotten WAY bigger than expected (he is 80 lbs) and they had 3 small children and he was like a bull in a china shop around them. So, we talk to the guy and we drive 5 hours to go pick this dog up. We were going to call him Jethro Gibbs when we decided to get him. On the way home we were talking and then name didn't fit him. His names was Spots and no dog in my house is going to be called Spots. He is black with white spots and it gives him a gunmetal gray kind of look to him. My husband suggests calling him Remington. I love it! However, I asked him what I am supposed to call him for short because when he runs out the front door and I am running up the street I am not yelling Remington. I tell him it much be Remy. He say NOPE, you are not calling my dog Remy. He suggests Winchester. I say Winnie, here Winnie. He just gives me that look, like you wouldn't dare. LOL. I should have said Chester, but I didn't. He suggests Ruger. I LOVE it! Our son was with us and he says "no, you are not calling the dog Booger." We are like, "No, Ruger." He hears it as Booger, so no. Not Ruger either. My husband says "What about Gatlin? Like a gatling gun, but without the g on the end." We loved it and so his name is Gatlin. We wanted something different. He is 5 years old and he seems to like his name. Normally my dogs get their names from books. All our cats are named after candy bars. I brought home this wild kitten (I caught it in a barn) and named it Silver Gypsy. He was forever known as Kit Kat, and I had to change his name at the vet to Silver Kit Kat so when I called I would know what cat they were talking about as he was never called Silver Gypsy after the first 2 days. Then we had Twix, Snickers and now Cadbury (she is the colors of a Cadbury Egg). If we get a brown one I will probably call it Hershey.
